Artist bio: 
Catu Daya is an Indonesian experimental music duo consisting of Yustiawan Paradigma Umar (gamelan) and Yoga Nugraha Usmad (electronics). Their work integrates gamelan with field recordings, ambient, and drone into a performance art practice that emphasizes improvisation, interaction, and spatial engagement. Their music reflects cultural heritage while aiming to expand the horizons of contemporary gamelan, creating an auditory space that bridges tradition, technology, and performativity.

Jennifer Touch - Behind the Wall

Dresden born and Berlin bred firecracker Jennifer Touch releases her long-awaited debut album ‘Behind the Wall’ via FatCat on April 24th. Equally at home on and off the dancefloor, it’s wave-kissed dreariness dripping with cold sensuality is both vibrant and brooding. Showcasing her unique sound in the saturated world of electronica, Touch successfully draws from electropop and disco influences, combining 80’s vintage synths with industrial soundscapes, delivered with a visceral post-punk snarl.

The previously released ‘Chemistry’ has been given an overhaul, and the base of all the songs on the record, Touch penned it in a slump of depression. “I knew I had the music inside me, but it felt like I was stuck,” she explains. The result is a sinister anthem reverberating in industrial charm.

Christoph Waelkens is a Brussels based musician composing personal, exotic electronic music. In the early nineties he was involved in many releases on the pioneering Belgian label Elektron. Later on focusing mainly on piano composition and polyrhythmic music (Shona), staying low profile yet highly active. Cafe OTO opened in April 2008 with the aim of providing a home for creative new music that exists outside of the mainstream. It comprises one large cafe/performance space open during the day serving food and drink with an evening programme of live music almost seven nights a week. 

OTOROKU is part of OTOProjects - a not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC) that has been set up to manage the programme at Café Oto.
