Speedy J and Surgeon present Bleep with a three hour live mix of their FUSE 2023 set, following their debut album as Multiples entitled Two Hours Or Something. With no tracklist to go by, it’s just the pounding techno to guide us through, relentlessly driving with extended acid workouts and industrial flavours. Past the first hour, things get warped and otherworldly with celestial synth stabs, before descending into hardcore rhythms. All this is surely a taste of what’s to come at their Sónar by Day set in Barcelona, 14th June, which the duo’s comments on their FUSE set further hint at: “I remember it being one of the most punishing Multiples sets, but as is always the way, it was still really odd and alien,” recalls Surgeon. “I agree with Tony,” adds Speedy J, “we got away with diverting from the usual club show path.”

With an extensive back catalogue behind him techno pioneer D-Knox continues to fire on all cylinders in modern times. His multi decade spanning career has seen him paint a colourful journey behind him, playing an integral part in the history of Techno and the development of its early stages amongst the greats in the US. Raw edge sounds with a killer groove at the heart, meandering between the sounds of Detroit, and the heavier shades of the techno spectrum are what have earned him his reputable status. His DJ sets manoeuvre between similar sounds, dusting off golden era rarities and combining them with productions of today from himself and artists he has met along the way.  
 
Growing up in Kalamazoo (Michigan USA) the acclaimed producer soaked up the influences from each and every corner he could. The city sits comfortably between Chicago and Detroit, and this fact has played a huge factor in his dynamic sound and journey as an artist. With two vital homes of house and techno around the corner enabled a young Knox to witness the heyday of this sound as a generation moulded the future of electronic music. His cousin Jay Denham, founder of Black Nation played a key role in this animated quest as the early 90s saw the pair begin to produce, and dig deeper into the legendary scenes they were fortunate enough to be surrounded by.
 
Knox’s essential Sonic Mind imprint firmly stands the test of time with the 90s label still growing to this day, playing a key part amongst the record bags of tastemakers throughout the years. Fast forward to today and the label is still providing a safe haven for discerning club sounds and beyond, in a time of over saturation and imitation here we have an artist and label who is always striving to be outside the box, offering something new and interesting at each and every opportunity. Inspired by a generation, and now has the task of sharing his knowledge and positive energy.
 
All of this has laid the foundations for what has been a bright career for D-Knox, his innovative sound always evolving with his timeless productions and story telling trips within the booth are a sure sign he is not slowing down in the years to come; a new mix series on the way, label releases signed off and some fresh merchandise paying homage to his roots

Rolando grew up in south west Detroit, a primarily Hispanic district of the city, he was heavily influenced by his Latin cultural rhythms and percussion. Inspired from an early age by his musician father, he pursued his own interest in music and became well known and respected within the Latino community. It was later when he heard Jeff Mills in 1985 as "The Wizard" that he discovered the innovative sounds of Techno. Through a mutual friend he was introduced to Mike Banks and joined the enigmatic Underground Resistance in 1994.

In 1999 'Jaguar' although not Rolando's first release on UR turned perceptions of Techno on their head, breaking into other genres of dance music and becoming an all time classic in the boxes of DJs such as Tenaglia, Carl Cox, Oakenfold, and Gilles Peterson. The track has a long legacy of reworking and lives on to this day many years later inspiring audiences from all genres.

In November 2004, Rolando left both Underground Resistance and his Los Hermanos project behind.2014 saw Rolando  launch his own label R3 ( Roland Rocha Records) and has more or less exclusively released his own music on his label since. Rolando now a Dj for more than thirty –five years continues to work internationally as a Dj , producer and Remixer  with an eclectic clientele such as Marcel Dettman, Kraftwerk, D’Julz, Ben Sims, Skudge, A Sagittariun. Rolando continues to hold his residency 2006)  at Berlin club Berghain.

Cailín Bio: 


Cailín is known for her dedication to the Art of Djing and Vinyl Only style. A name recognised in Europe and as far as the Americas, the 2x Boiler Room selector has rightfully become one of Ireland's most respected DJs. 


As a long-term resident at District 8 and Subject, Cailín regularly appears alongside the best names in the game like Jeff Mills, Dave Clarke, Richie Hawtin, Ben Sims and Dax J to name just a few. 


She has earned slots at the likes of Tresor and Machine Parties, shows in Vancouver and NYC and is a regular at Ireland’s best clubs and biggest festival stages. Her passion and ability to work the turntables and adapt to any crowd shine through from her years of experience. 


As a producer, Cailín's discography is steadily growing. Her debut 12", 'Phantom Love Affair EP', 4 tracks of raw, machine fuelled techno, caught the ear of Dave Clarke, who chose her as one of his favourite producers of 2021. 


Shortly after she contributed to Ben Sim's huge Symbolism VA as a handpicked artist alongside an all star cast. Since then, she has had a steady stream of releases on labels like [R]3volution Records & Diffuse Reality. Cailín's 2024 release schedule is packed with 3 EPs and lots of VAs set to drop, as well as the launch of her own label. Watch this space.
