This is my humble attempt at recreating this magnificent video game theme from the legend himself, Koji Kondo. The masterpiece it's from was released on Nintendo 64, meaning the original track is heavily synthesized, which does not allow it to tap its full potential. I wish an official re-recording happened someday.

Percussive textures with two synchronized Black VCO SINE signals, each processed with its own filter
and effect and strongly modulated by Black CV Tools, whose modulation sources are the Black
Modulator and Black EG signals. The pitch and the duration of the modulations are controlled and
modulated by the Joystick in RND mode by modulating the Black VCO Pitch with the x signal and by
modulating the frequency of the Black Modulator with the Y signal. The frequency of the Black VCF is
modulated by the Sample&Hold signal and the resonance is modulated by the Black VCO Pulse signal.

Here an Ableton Live synth jam improvising on an Argon8X synth. Composition is based on the whole tone scale. Scenes are triggered via Akai APC64.

I had A LOT of fun recording the vocal tracks for this thing. The idea was to stick to 6 tracks, to pay homage to the amazing cohesion of this band's six members. I wanted to make it sound like 6 guys having fun playing music in a room. No reverb was added to this whatsoever. You could put 6 clones of me in a room and they would sound exactly like this.
