New Spring brought warmth and colors... Memories of the first years together showed back, gaining strength, overpowering the turmoil.

She was changing her list of Rights and Wrongs, Shoulds and Shouldn'ts. Her abandoned piano got to feel her touch again, shy and timid, raging and hopeful. Through those keys she was discovering back her whole self.

He was building a treehouse on their backyard, on a blue spruce tree... hammering hundreds of nails through its branches, hurting his hands with its needles... but healing through this catharsic zen of... 

CONTEMPLATION... The tenth track from my new album "Yet Another Love Story", telling the story of my love and music: from the anticipation of the first date, from the surprise and joy of new relations to the moments of doubt and fear, disgust and anger, followed by guilt, sadness and contemplation. But above all it always comes down to trust and love.

Roll The Dice’s Born To Ruin opens with the electrifying synthetic rhythms and sax of ‘The Derailed’. What’s immediately striking is its directness: it’s brash, metallic and punkish, an appropriate opener for Peder Mannerfelt and Malcolm Pardon’s fourth collaborative album. Compared to the epic, sweeping compositions of the duo’s earlier records, the music on Born To Ruin is stripped to the bone — a collection of concise, sharply evocative, jazz-infused music that’s more smoky basement than orchestral hall. Following the stately orchestral explorations of 2014’s Until Silence, the music here is lithe, hollow and furious, evoking a fractured world of economic and political instability.

This is a very special version of a song which will be included in my "Late Winter Tales" EP. forthcoming on <a href="http://dewtonerecordings.com">Dewtone Recordings</a> May 15th. I rearranged the song in this version for piano and strings for some live shows I could start doing in Milan by the end of May... It is a short but moving song depicting an evening marine scene.  I thought to share it with you. I hope you'll like it.

Building Bridges between cultures and to send an indirect message to the audience, creating an positive image about the Egyptian Culture Heritage was the reason why Basem Darwisch founded the German/Egyptian Band Cairo Steps in 2003 .
Cairo Steps merges and combines traditional Egyptian and oriental grooves with modern jazz and classics , using vocal inserts with old Arabic poems . it is a mix between improvisation, classical music and contemporary sounds. The music is influenced by spiritual ethnic music as well as European music traditions and alternates between strong unison rhythms, virtuoso solos and meditative soundscapes. The result is a unique music style and an exciting blend of various cultures
Basem could manage to make Cairo Steps plays the role of the umbrella that has all of the different musical genres and experiences merged together all the way from spiritual chants to modern classics with their own flavor and to pursues the vision of crossing cultural, political and religious borders and building bridges between the occident and the orient. Basem Darwisch’s Vision is to present the audience with a tense spiritual musical experience as language that can help them transcend over their earthly matters and to use the concert to create an atmosphere of tolerance and acceptance of other and different cultures advocating the motto “Music is the bonding force” 
His Vision is also to leave an positive impression about the Egyptian culture heritage through short speeches , visuals and introductions during Cairo Steps concerts in Europe in very well known opera houses and theaters e.g. : Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Philharmonie Berlin, Alte Oper Frankfurt, Prinzregententheater München, Theaterhaus Stuttgart  , Kuwait , Abou Dhabi and Cairo Opera House etc.
