"Poussière. Plastique. Résidu. Ruines. Je me réveille et ne reconnais rien de ce paysage de néant pourtant si plein. Le ciel est d’un rose rance et terrifiant. Sur ce sol accidenté, rien ne semble avoir résisté, ni image, ni écran. Rien si ce n’est des débris, des reliquats de vies passées, d'existences numériques. De la mousse phosphorescente a recouvert mes pieds. A tout recouvert. Entre effroi et émerveillement, je contemple les alentours, médusé. 
Alors que de nouvelles voix et un nouveau langage résonnent en moi, le silence environnant m’accable. Pourtant au loin j’entends des sirènes en écho. Elles m’appellent. Je me lève finalement et commence ma traque. Suivre la trace des ces chants, quoi de plus hasardeux. Allez, qu’est-ce que j’ai à perdre de toute façon."

ZiNi - all that badd

The 33rd release of katharsis is the EP “unearthed, recovered” by the Canadian artist online threat. This release pulls from the dissociated feeling of re-discovering artifacts of remembrance that were once thought to be forever lost, and finding a glimmer of hope as a result. The project accesses a flurry of genres - hard trance, noise, and ambient all find a place here, packing contradicting sounds together in order to birth new sonic possibilities. “unearthed, recovered” is emotional, grotesque and at moments beautiful with its sense of longing and melancholy, a crescendo of tensions followed by an exhale.

On this release, online threat excavates the hidden sonic potentialities of field recordings, samples and synthesis, borrowing their voices to spin immersive narrative tales through his stream-of-consciousness improvisational method. The EP is the artist's third release, following the EP “Memories of Dawns Lost” and the full album “Contrapuntal Transfiguration” on labels surf and Absurd TRAX, besides a couple of self-released tracks and mixfiles. The artwork was made by Matej Mihevc ( @h.265_/ ) who framed and contextualized a painting by Victoria Palacios ( @victoriapalacios_ ), reflecting the sense of decay and reminiscence that the album thematizes.
