Starting his artistic journey afresh by adopting a new creative approach after an artistic hiatus, OLIVER PINDER has since transformed his sound from its dark, indie-folk roots into an eclectic mix of guitar-driven alternative pop anthems and heartfelt piano ballads. Encompassing the earnest lyricism of artists Matilda Mann and Jeremy Zucker, as well as the glitchy synth-wave instrumental layers akin to that of The Japanese House and Holly Humberstone, Pinder’s music captures the anxieties of today’s younger generation. Following his return to the music industry, the 22-year-old Wakefield based artist unleashed his debut EP entitled POTENTIAL, I GUESS? in May 2023. Focussing on the struggles faced by twentysomethings venturing through adulthood, each song of his first record details Pinder’s attempt to navigate unknown sonic territory whilst remaining true to his song-writer roots. Having been featured by the likes of BBC Radio 6 and BBC Introducing, Potential, I Guess? includes the singles ‘Stressed’, ‘Beautiful Second’, and ‘Late July’, with each release receiving critical acclaim following their publication. His EP release also coincided with the announcement of a UK tour, which Pinder and his full-band line-up, consisting of lead guitarist Morgan Lindley and drummer Harry Stobart, embarked on as soon as the record became available. Following the success of his first instalment of headline shows across the country, Pinder is already anticipating a further run of headline show dates for early next year around the UK and beyond, as he aspires to expand his audience internationally. Future full-band performances will also feature two new additions to the artist’s explosive line-up, as he introduces bassist Michael Tuck. Pinder is also working towards his sophomore EP which sees his sound develop into much heavier realms than his debut record, proving that he is not just a one-trick pony. With a widely celebrated first EP and selection of sell-out shows in some of the UK’s most notorious grass-roots venues under his belt, the future appears promising for indie’s future sensation, Oliver Pinder.

Waylayers released Re:Verse in early 2015, the follow up to their trio debuting singles of 2014, garnering nods from BBC Radio 1 right through to Q Magazine. Hunger TV declared them as being "on the precipice of a career about to go stratospheric”. Their recent appearance at SXSW was cited by Fuse as one of the top 5 moments of the entire festival (alongside Lady Gaga and The 1975). Re:Verse featured artwork by the legendary Rankin, and was released by Alcopop Records. The band have returned in Autumn 2015 with a new direction combining elements of house and dance, coupled with their unique pop sensibility and have entirely reworked their sound and developed a new incendiary live set up, in keeping with their new vision. ‘Closer' is testament to that bold move; a track which Gigwise described as "...demanding of your attention… their atmospheric deep house surpasses any and all stereotypes.”
