This is the first release in a series of charity compilations dedicated to the indomitable spirit of Ukrainians. Currently, our families are facing challenges such as living in a total blackout, with no electricity, water, and internet for 40-60 hours or more, in cold buildings, wearing every piece of clothing we have to keep ourselves warm. This release is also dedicated to all the people around the world who have helped us, and to those who still continue to support us during these difficult times. That's where the name of the series ("VOLUNTEERS") and release ("BLACKOUT") came from. Everyone who has supported Ukraine in any way is a volunteer. In the context of this compilation, every musician, mastering engineer, artwork designer, and person who buys the release or a track from it is also a volunteer.

Cosmic Tribe is excited to release CALAGAD 13’s latest EP, “Bio-Synthetic,” a compelling exploration of a dystopian future where biology and technology intersect. “Biomantics” immerses listeners in a dark sci-fi realm where scientific advancements manipulate memory and energy, introducing a biotechnological entity that defies natural boundaries. The track explores the fusion of biology and technology in a dystopian world.

With over 20 years of production and performance under their belts Italian electro-punk duo Franz and Shape are known for their 80s New Wave and Electronic music influenced EBM-tinged beats, laced with a high dose of energetic bass lines and rhythm structures.

For the .001 EP they have teamed up with fellow Italian talents TenGrams. TenGrams comprises brothers Alessandro and Davide Piatto; Davide being a member of the legendary N.O.I.A. who are widely credited as one of the groups responsible for the birth of the Italo Disco movement.

The EP showcases the four’s combined production talents, varied influences and extensive knowledge in two well crafted Electro pieces, bringing to the fore their collective love for tough beats, infectious basslines and clever and impactful melodic elements.

Gentrified Underground presents an interdisciplinary project
tackling the sonic fiction & afrofuturism of Drexciya. 
Thought as an extension to the Bubble Chamber exhibition happening at Mikro & UP STATE Zürich, GU releases a 2x12 vinyl compilation and a booklet with contributions by Abdul Qadim Haqq, Charlie Mills, chukwumaa, Dominiqueh White, Gentrified Underground, Maïté Chéniere and tracks by Xor Gate (Gerald Donald), Shawescape Renegade, DJ Dijital, Plant43, The Exaltics, Kuldaboli, Iko, Tom Ware, Luz1e and Sansibar.

The goal of this compilation is to showcase the reach and influence which Drexciya had through generations of electronic music producers and also link them together with compositorial predecessors from the early 80s. The musical timeline on this compilation starts from 1982 and reaches its contemporary end in 2019.

"More than twenty years after their first release, the sonic
fictions produced by Drexciya, the Detroit based electronic
duo founded by James Stinson and Gerald Donald at the
start of the 1990s, continues to enthral contemporary
cultural practitioners. By reimagining the Transatlantic
Slave Trade as a fiction of enforced mutation, the Drexciya
mythos opened, and continues to open, a speculative space
for the reimagining of the posthuman condition, and for
questions of becoming, origin and mutation in relation
to capitalism, finance and futurity." - Kodwo Eshun

The booklet contains unseen and unreleased Drexcyan drafts by Abdul Qadim Haqq, an interview between him and GU, contemporary art contributions by chukwumaa, Dominiqueh White and Maïté Chéniere and an academic essay by Charlie Mills.

Zygimantas Dzikevicius aka 5ZYL comes from the urban district Pasilaiciai situated at the northern part of the Lithuanian capital Vilnius. Started musical journey around 2007 and being influenced by old-school rave / breakbeat / hardcore sound - Zygimantas started producing dubstep & jungle tunes and djing at various illegal parties and open-airs including legendary broken rhythm sound festival Satta. In the late 2019`s a new mindset under alias 5ZYL was born and it didn’t take long to be noticed by Jensen Interceptor and by local talent HUNTers - PPP Records - where the debut "Smoke These" EP got its shape.
