For Excession Series #18, WLM gives us a deep and sonic ride through his soundscapes!

Based in Athens, WLM is a DJ and producer, as well as an active member or the Greek electronic music scene under various aliases.
Throughout the years he has performed in Athens most important nightclubs and festivals, such as ADD 2018, under the Invisible People alias. Additionally, he is a key member of the Overdriven team.
While focusing on more dance-floor oriented music, he always tries to offer a fresh, personal approach.
In late 2020 he released track Vibrasphere for Koslif Records, and in 2021 Fervent for Semantica Records, alongside Artificial Drm.

After an extended respite from the realms of image and text, and a summer spent perambulating spaces of sound and dance, we return.

The unearthing of @caldera.em.es recording has conjured the memory of when we last converged in the city lights to dance at the @thecauselondon in January 2023.

We invite you to dive into a mix that traverses the labyrinthine corridors of his musical universe and are indebted to him for the journey he takes us on.

I didn't plan the tracklist but had the idea of starting quite uplifting and energetic, then raising the tempo and going a bit more trippy and fast.

Thank you! I mostly go with rhythmic or melodic elements that fit together and see what feels right in the moment. I feel like theres so much good music that can be mixed together that I don't want to limit myself. At the other hand I'm not sure if I'm being a bit all over the place sometimes - I suppose it's always a bit of a fight finding your sound and this year I have really noticed that with djing.

I started playing the flute when I was 6 or so, then was in some death metal & hardcore punk bands in my teens playing bass and guitar but really started getting into producing around 2009 with a sampler and then around 2011-2012 properly into producing with the computer. Started buying & playing records in 2010.

+ 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜 𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬?
I really love having some kind of soundworld in my music. I just like to create it and sort of sit in that kind of place. I find that very peaceful, even if it maybe sounds quite dark from the outside. I also try to add so many sounds that it's hard to tell where they start and end. Some kind of organised chaos - definitely an inspiration that comes from listening to Flying Lotus' Los Angeles Album.

The other big thing for me is sub bass. I somehow find very deep kicks extremely satisfying so that's an important factor for me, too.
