Australian DJ Life brings his esoteric ambiance on Finnish label, Echocentric Records after impressive string of releases on Gnork’s Blorp Label and Gestalt Records. The 4 track EP titled ‘Neural Oscillations EP’ is a dreamy escapade beginning with ‘Peia’ to the finale on ‘Abduction’. B1 track, ‘Mindreader’, has sub-electro workings with a cunning 303 acid-bassline, heady rhythm section and a celestial synth that hypnotizes a minute into the track. ‘Mindreader’ is formulated with wispy hi-hats, echoing twerps & chirps, schwifty vocal loops for a good psychedelic measure. ‘Mindreader’ is pleasurable, blissful and displays great range of depth with very sound production techniques that will leave you wanting more.

softcoresoft joins the Lobster family with her debut release on Lobster Theremin Black, with five propulsive, space jams. Dropping 18th October, Otherworlds EP is cosmic Techno from the Montreal-based artist that will have you hooked!

A1, Meteor Shower signals the shape of things to come, kicking off the EP with mesmeric, acid lines. Mycophilia (A2) is a deeper, driving cut, layered with rave wiggles and ethereal elements. A3 offers broken-beats, bleeps and bloops - ‘Overstatement (Space Edit)’ is a dizzying brain-tickler. On the flip, B1’s ‘Social Compost’, is a tripped out, warehouse wobbler. Rounding out the EP with a final acid cut, ‘Thalassa’ (B2), nods to early Detroit machine music with extraterrestrial influence. A tip for digi buyers, you’ll find ‘Sentiment Analysis’ (B3), stripped back yet pacey, frantic machine music.

That said, as years went by, so swelled the reputation of this sextet of visionary, alien-engineered jams, soon turning the once $1 bin find into a highly sought-after item on the second-hand market. Much to the displeasure of hardline speculators but for the greatest joy of skint '90s sound lovers, KOC reissues the Systems experience in full force and effect.
Today we premiering B1 track from Ether - mightily explosive 'Detonator' - a wild and woolly acid number that shall not go without conjuring up memories of the early Prodigy's mid-nineties rave exploits.

PREMIERE #808 | Ether - Detonator (Frank's Placid Acid Edit)[Kalahari Oyster Cult] 2020

The flickering lights flashed and buzzed upon the billboard, the giant screen looked down upon the passing people who walked beneath the radiant glare of the monitor. They were not aware of the dense, intricate complexity required to make such electronic engineering work and whiz behind the scenes. Each pixel was like a microdancer, a tiny orb which danced and died in the blink of an eye only to be replaced by the next pulsing light. It was night time in the city and the glow of the billboard was all which illuminated the way for the lonely walkers, a city ignorant and unthinking. Lead by the visions on a midnight screen. 

Tracey is set to release a new EP on Aus Music, an electro inspired affair which channels the rough and rugged sounds commonly associated with Den Haag. This one has been widely supported and works a treat.

Endless rows of slot machines, manned by those invigorated with the promise of the big win, fill the casino with blinding flickers and the cacophonous kerchunk of the bandit’s one arm. The empty promise of financial gain masks the gambler's fallacy in a gold coat of smoke and mirrors. As the hypnotic nature of the roulette wheel calls forth like an infinite beacon, it becomes clear that harnessing its power is the key to perpetual motion. Beyond its glitz and glam, the shimmer of financial gain and the dark reality of ruin, for the foreseeable, Vegas is home. 

Out on Lobster Theremin’s UNDR, an imprint that focuses on the deeper side of club music, is Andy Garvey’s Complex Clarity. The Sydney-native is an integral part of the Australian scene, and her reputation as one of the country’s most innovative DJs truly shows in her own productions. This release features five tracks of quality techno and electro, each of which subscribe to a ‘less is more’ approach. Our pick, ‘sub.concious’ is a low-tempo, moody electro stomper that slowly builds upon subtle elements with atmospheric pads and futuristic sounds.
