Safejas - Kan (Caldera Remix)

To leave a durable sonic footprint, one that matters, one that after ten years of cohesive activism in the field of so-called ‘dance music’ would make the voyage and vehicle worth the body and soul breathed into it. A gratifyingly sustainable vision for the club and not, enjoining the picky home-listener and basement insurgent to unite over reels of finespun electronics, minutely put together to weave the most immersive of experiences.

Since its inception in October 2011, Noorden has aimed at crafting time-proof pieces of sound, easing its audience in a continuously shape-shifting vortex of abstract-leaning programmings and genre-unbound grooves, faux-organic folds and barrages of borderline seditious versatility. Iconoclastic by nature, the label celebrates its tenth anniversary with this eleven-track Compilation, gathering a cast of close friends and collaborators who have all made their contribution in the rise and development of Noorden as an idiosyncratic musical vessel.

Spanning all styles electronic, from techno to ambient music, via all kinds of off-piste oddities, house-y, kosmische, spacious or claustrophobic, epic-sized and intimate, “NOO11—21” captures a widescreen snapshot of the label’s immediate reality, and exhibits its role as a bold-minded hub for like-minded artists, each of whom have been cutting their own path of differentiation in a world increasingly drawn towards uniformity and obedience to the standard in force.

Deep listening, spatial imagery and floating introspection evoked by genres of ambient and electronica to enhance the immersive journey with rhythms of dub, bits of breakbeats plus erratic frequency rumbles and machine noises.

It is about diving into elements that have been established so far and widening this horizon while exploring them in collaboration with the creative orbit of the label. Family and friends accompanied by the newest entries of the SOMO crew.

It features artists that have released other works on sonic moiré before like Caldera (sonic moiré/Riviera Club/WNCL Recordings/Noorden), nnls (sonic moiré/Dusky Adriatic), redredred while introducing new faces like KELMHO (sonic moiré), Daniel Cherney (Squareglass), Nazca (Empty Head Rich Heart), Fabian Tombers (Disturbing Noise) and untitled_artist. 

This various artist sampler is available as a limited, elaborate tape version and is wrapped in a special hand-stamped see-through packaging including a coloured booklet, sticker & downloadcode for the release plus a prosaic note by f/oska. Distributed by Lobster Distribution.

We’re deep into summer, the longest night of the year has passed. Accents Records have been down in the basement and we’re excited to let you know what we’ve been up to. 

Our latest release, ACCENTVA003, is going to be available in digital and cassette format. A defining goal of ours has been to support physical releases with handcrafted artwork (linocuts , drawings.…) so it’s an exciting moment for us. Being able to tie this with the inspiring and eclectic tracks in the release is what we’re about. 

We’ve gone and collected challenging, left-field, forward thinking and weird sounds from across the world to seep in to your ears. Field recordings, dance music, breaks, dark techno and passion are spread across the release – this is going to be one to keep going back to. We’re excited to share this with you all and can only hope you feel as passionate as we do about the tracks! 

This how we’re lining up: 

On the A side, Rad Machine kicks us off. A talented Russian producer who has already realized tracks on система and Fuselab. He opens the album with a subtle field recording of urban landscapes that gently progresses into fog tinted break dub techno. 

Abu Ama is a mysterious producer from Berlin, that continues the story with his personal and original signature. There’s large filtered kick beats, a low tempo and Arabian influences in this forward looking techno track. 

Caldera, is a well known electronic producer from Brighton who has released music on Noorden, WNCL recordings, Riviera Club…‘Infinite Dawn’ is an 11 minute smashing of acid and contemplation. Something elegant and progressive, that mesmerises you. Monochrome is undoubtedly the colour to describe it. 

Evitceles from Bulgaria has recently released an incredible album on Opal Tapes. His work is a precise mix of club music and experimental sounds, he pushes the listener in to the shadows with ‘Raven’. Something raw and deep, with a romantic melody, devil’s breaks. It’s perfectly balanced between darkness and light. 

For the B side, we are glad to present Zeno Amsel from Houston, Texas. His last album was released on Lobster Theremin. He smashes it out the park with ‘Shimokitazawa’. This track is simply what we could call a tune, the melody and narration here are make it one to smash on the beach. 

Fahmi Mursyid is an experimental artist from Indonesia. Here he evokes twilight colors on‘Löcher’. He went for a psychedelic approach using classical Roland 808 & 303 sounds combined with dreamy pads, just close your eyes and dance! 

Saphileaum has already released tracks on Controlled Violence and Lett Records. He is an emerging artist from Tbilissi’s electronic scene, and here he invites you in to a shamanic and ritualistic mood. ‘Silence for seven days’ is a contemporary and tribal vision of deep techno music. 

Vito Lucente is a pioneer in the Toronto Noise scene, behind his wonderful person hides a very good producer. ‘Pool of Tears’ is cinematic rather than contemplative and romantic, a positive and optimistic vision that is also hope and serenity infused, an absolutely perfect outro.

"Turnend Tapes presents the Da'aro Youth Compilation. An album consisting of various sounds and textures spanning 11 tracks with the involvement of 13 artists.
The Injera Club is the main project run by Da’aro youth which is a community-led organisation supporting young refugees from the Horn of Africa. They aim to promote the wellbeing of these migrant young people living in the UK, through direct support, building bridges in the Eritrean community and through advocating for changes to unfair and discriminatory systems which undermine their wellbeing.
100% of profits will be going to this amazing charity who'd benefit greatly from any support especially given the current escalation of conflict in Ethiopia and Eritrea."

it’s with a genuine enthusiasm that we announce our next release: this extensive compilation will be the fifth of the label and thus the best way to celebrate our fifth birthday ! 

From ambient to techno, and everything in-between, Various Artists 005 will proudly feature some of the regular contributors to the catalogue, as well as an expert selection of new faces. Among them, Accou (esoteric musician, member of Indian Red Head crew), Matthias Puech (synth designer, researcher at INA GRM, Adhémar (Belgian producer and DJ, graphic designer of Oslated), Sonhan (DJ/Producer, co-organiser of Metropolis events in Brussels), Time Scale Dilation Lab (aka Ersatz Olfolks), Polygonia (DJ/Producer, creative director of Lowless), Milena Glowacka (Famous DJ/Producer from Poland, have released on legendary Label Semantica), Daniel[i] (DJ/Producer, founder of Whispering Signals), Launaea (Producer, founder of From A Lost Place) and Farceb (is one of the new emerging figures from the techno music scene in Argentina, has released on Pole Group, Mindtrip..)

Polygonia (Munich, DE) _ spaced out paradisiacal wandering with infinite spirals of chains and tidal swirls of delays. 

Forest On Stasys (Buenos Aires, ARG) _ flawlessly engineered techno vehicle for focused voyager 

Fahmi Mursyid (Bandung, INDONESIA) _ raw, textured, deep techno pendulum, in post-apocalyptic contemplation mode. 

Gëinst (FR) _ driving ambient techno, full on crystal pads, far-out interferences and vapour waves. 

Milena Glowacka (PL) _ high resolution pulsating atmospheric techno. Expect insects and fields of electricity. 

Daniel[i] & Launaea (Germany / Colombia) _ tripped-out atmospheric dub techno roller, with shuffling rhythms 

Farceb (Buenos Aires, ARG) _ heavily grinding, effective pounder with widely open hi-hats, in peak-time mode. 

Elle (Milano, IT) _ bright and peaceful outro with elegantly emotional modular patterns.
