Outsiders w. Duckett is back to our stream! This month’s show is a tapestry of Duckett music stretching back nearly 20 years. (There’s also a sneaky Actress edit in there) From that you can deduce that there is also 20 year old production in parts, tbh, it sounds more 220 year old production, but hey, that doesn’t matter anymore. The best tunes have the worst production, the worst tunes have the best production, this is true across most of the music I hear. Id much prefer a visionary than a snazzy producer, some are both (twats). Only the position or only the direction of a particle can be measured at any single instant. Who am I?

To leave a durable sonic footprint, one that matters, one that after ten years of cohesive activism in the field of so-called ‘dance music’ would make the voyage and vehicle worth the body and soul breathed into it. A gratifyingly sustainable vision for the club and not, enjoining the picky home-listener and basement insurgent to unite over reels of finespun electronics, minutely put together to weave the most immersive of experiences.

Since its inception in October 2011, Noorden has aimed at crafting time-proof pieces of sound, easing its audience in a continuously shape-shifting vortex of abstract-leaning programmings and genre-unbound grooves, faux-organic folds and barrages of borderline seditious versatility. Iconoclastic by nature, the label celebrates its tenth anniversary with this eleven-track Compilation, gathering a cast of close friends and collaborators who have all made their contribution in the rise and development of Noorden as an idiosyncratic musical vessel.

Spanning all styles electronic, from techno to ambient music, via all kinds of off-piste oddities, house-y, kosmische, spacious or claustrophobic, epic-sized and intimate, “NOO11—21” captures a widescreen snapshot of the label’s immediate reality, and exhibits its role as a bold-minded hub for like-minded artists, each of whom have been cutting their own path of differentiation in a world increasingly drawn towards uniformity and obedience to the standard in force.

Artiste et dj éclectique imprégnée à la fois de son héritage franco-éthiopien et de culture rave et techno, Hewan Aman (@hewizee) s’emploie à créer des univers enivrants au groove métissé. Une âme singulière, à la recherche de contrastes sonores. Jamais linéaire, toujours solaire, même à ses heures les plus introspectives. Ses sets sont des virées galopantes, infusées de trance, techno, breaks & drums. 

Pour cette première sur Ola elle nous a concocté un podcast downtempo aux antipodes de sa vitesse de croisière habituelle une respiration entre deux gigs. Un condensé d'émotion, de groove et de clins d'oeils aux merveilleuses inspirations qui ont été posées sur son chemin ces derniers mois. Certains s'y reconnaîtront forcément. 

ça donne un mélange d'ambient, slow psy & trance, drums, dub et l'occasion d'insérer une track de Mikael Seifu, un producteur éthiopien qu'elle affectionne particulièrement.
