I have been amazed of late at the debate around abortion. It is polarised, rancorous, loud and insensitive. Civilised societies should not behave this way.
Every thinking person will acknowledge that there are serious and profound arguments on both sides of the debate. Stuck in the middle are the individual women facing possibly the most personal and distressing situation that they may face in their entire lives. We would do well to focus a little more on them and their wellbeing, rather than our own moral positions.
