Any artist is welcome to send us a track via freshonthenet.co.uk anytime between Monday lunchtime and Wednesday evening (or when we receive 200 submissions, whichever is sooner) - and all our moderators, including Tom Robinson, will listen to every track. This is our full inbox from the week beginning Mon 11th July: from Friday afternoon you'll be able to hear our shortlist and pick your favourites on this week's Listening Post which will appear at freshonthenet.co.uk/batch455

If a track you submitted does not appear in this list, it’s probably because another of your tracks appeared in our Fresh Faves or on the BBC Music Introducing Mixtape during the last three months — we ask that artists featured on either wait three months before resubmitting to give others a chance. 

We also don’t accept short previews or SoundCloud Go tracks that can only be heard as 30 second previews, and tracks made private after submission, which cannot be included in playlists. You will be able to resubmit the track in future. Tracks (and remixes of tracks) that have been previously submitted, and tracks from banned artists will also be removed.

Contempt For Others

Theme: Just Believe The Truth is about the  trials and tribulations of being in a long-term relationship with someone. There are sometimes fights and disagreements; tears and pain, but the most important thing is that you know you love each other unconditionally, despite the challenges you face together. It's about ignoring all the external "noise" in the world - the distractions, things vying for your attention, of which there is more and more of these days - and focusing on what we believe is right deep inside. If you want proof of why you should work to stay together, you need look no further than the truth ... that love is worth fighting for. You will find a way back to each other. Your love will cross the widest ocean and bridge the deepest canyon.

Music: The persistent and edgy rhythm of the verses (provided by percussive acoustic guitars and driving straightforward bass and drums) reflect the continual external "noise" and difficulties we face and the chorus (lifted by bold electric guitars and bright synths) soars up to rise above it all.

Artwork: The storm clouds and lightning embody the struggles, the owl is a symbol of truth navigating through the storm.

It’s been a long time since you washed your clothes. The pile of laundry in your bedroom creeps further towards you every time you hurl another sweat-filled sock at it. Two, three weeks now? Excuses keep flowing.

Mayor - Falls In Line

Calebo are an introspective indie-rock/indie-folk band from London, UK.

Dan Caleb’s songwriting harks back to early 90s Seattle, evoking the spirit of bands like Pearl Jam and Nirvana, via the melodic and lyrical sensibilities of introspective songwriters such as Elliott Smith and Sufjan Stevens.

Georgia Maria, Rob 'Pilgrims' Dream' Ouseley, Roy Lubugumu and Felix White provide the driving backbone to Calebo’s infectious songs.

Calebo are renowned for their energetic live performances, having played sell-out shows at venues across London. The band has worked with engineers Andy Baldwin (Blur, Faith No More) and Mike Hillier (Django Django) and debut album 'Kaleidoscopic Mind' was released in July 2023.
