Birthed in the rugged and treacherous landscapes of lutruwita in 2022, Slackjaw serves a scene undoubtedly on the rise. Relentlessly cloud-digging and cutting his teeth on the decks of club nights and underground raves the past three years has given way to a sound unlike any other.

Andrew guides you through a deep vat of genre-bending sonic adventures seamlessly blending the traditional and technical. Expect driving rhythms, scattered breakbeat, scintillating vocal performances and, of course, unholy amounts of sub frequencies.

Teaming up with fellow bass fiend VØID in early 2024 to form SLØ (pronounced slur), a project centered around creative mixing and sonic experimentation, has propelled the pair into a whole new arena supporting the likes of Copycatt, K+Lab and IMANU.

Forever a militant advocate of the underground and the everyman’s punter, Slackjaw now looks to the future forming the grassroots collective Pear Shaped, a community formed through music, encouragement and acceptance. The future looks bright for bass music in lutruwita and Slackjaw aims to be right there in front of the stack.

Belfast-born Dominick Martin has spent the last 30 years simply creating. He’s done so with a sort of restrained melancholy that’s broad enough to encompass a myriad of tempos and genres. Over 24 albums, this includes his more song-based experimental LPs, from drum & bass into dub, techno, house, ambient, jazz, soul, blues and folk.

The same can be said of his award winning DJ sets: Fluent within his own vast range, favouring the bookings where space and time allow him to draw out a narrative and provoke emotions, predominantly based on his own material. Calibre sets draw from his own personal spectrum, never resort to hype tactics and are perennially sprung with never-before-heard surprises.
