Description: A track for Naviar Records weekly Haiku challenge; seven days in which to produce a piece in response to the haiku posted. For the lead brass instruments I used Audiomodelling's SWAM Flugelhorn and Eb Flugelhorn. I also experimented with some live percussion playing my Korean Jangu. My idea was that the wind instruments represent the wind of the poem and the percussion, the falling leaves.

To participate:

- Make a song in response to the weekly assigned poem (a new poem is published every Wednesday)

- When choosing a title for your piece also include the assignment number, for example “Title of your track (naviarhaiku110)”

This week's haiku, by Mark Miller, inspired my improvisation (in C major), played on Lea Bertucci Acoustic Shadows VST synth (by Spitfire Audio). Recorded and mixed in Reaper, with Timeless2 added. Mastered with CloudBounce.

The Assignment: Let the beginning of a book help you begin a new piece of music.

written in July 1918 in the trenches during the First World War.
