Any artist is welcome to send us a track via freshonthenet.co.uk anytime between Monday lunchtime and Thursday morning (or when we receive 200 submissions, whichever is sooner) - and all our moderators, including Tom Robinson, will listen to every track. This is our full inbox from the week beginning Mon 28th October: from around midday on Friday you'll be able to hear our shortlist and pick your favourites on this week's Listening Post which will appear at freshonthenet.co.uk/batch342

If a track you submitted does not appear in this list, it’s probably because another of your tracks appeared in our Fresh Faves or on the BBC Music Introducing Mixtape during the last three months — we ask that artists featured on either wait three months before resubmitting to give others a chance. We also don’t accept SoundCloud Go tracks, which can only be heard as 30 second previews, and tracks made private after submission, which will be invisible to everyone. You will be able to resubmit the track in future. Tracks that have been previously submitted will also be removed.

A Woman Like You

My Honest Face

A singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist known for cinematic genre-bending and controversial boundary-pushing, Calista studied classical/jazz piano and composition at London’s Royal Academy of Music, and has since been performing and winning fans across the world with her dynamic voice and captivating songs.

She founded charity-based arts collective Voice of Aiko in 2018 and is currently penning music-theatre with playwright Stephanie Martin. Having composed several international floor-fillers under pseudonyms, Calista’s impact in the world of music is matched in that of fashion, where Stella McCartney has used her tracks as catwalk openers and Parisian fashion house Jitrois actually named its couture ‘Callista’ jacket after her.

Following the success of the critically acclaimed ‘Project: Love Me’ EP, Calista has just released her highly anticipated debut solo album, ‘Empress’. Continuing to modify the norms of modern songwriting, this stunning concept album considers the stories of women in history, challenging complex themes while never losing its sense of fun. Accompanying each release are awareness-raising charity campaigns addressing themes which include LGBTQ+ rights, period shame, prescription-drug dependency and domestic abuse.
