Before the birth of time or flame,
We drifted close, then slipped apart,
No sky to meet, no skin, no heart.

You moved and I became the sound,
I turned and you were all around.
A hush so vast, a pull so slight,
We knew each other... 

When we were light.

We're not held,
We simply stayed.
Two souls unbound, yet unafraid.
Not drawn by force, nor ruled by fate,
But by a truth too small for weight.

We didn’t speak, we didn’t try,
We shimmered soft, you and I.
A love so deep it had no name,
Two stars, one flame.

No tether then, no world to name,
Just velvet silence, just the same.
The way the ocean knows the shore,
The way a pulse forgets the war.

We circled nothing, wide and slow,
A dance no time would ever know.
Still touching, even in the flight,
Still whole, still us… 

When we were light.

We were not bound,
We simply knew.
What one became, the other too.
No shadow cast, no edges drawn,
Just morning stretched across the dawn.

No loss, no fear, no need to fight,
We loved like stars who never night.
No wound to tend, no wish to write,
Just pure becoming… 

When we were light.

And maybe now, in skin and bone,
We echo what we’ve always known.
Each gaze, each ache, each tethered flight,
Is just a path back to that light.

So if you find me in the dark,
A trembling voice, a shattered spark,
Remember not the war or night,
But who we were…
