Call and Response are a musical ensemble hailing from the Bay Area. The music they compose is filled with rhythm, harmony, and warmth. Elements of classic pop, spacey jazz, film soundtracks, folk and soul music are only some of the musical inspirations drawn upon by the group. Added to their influences of The Beach Boys, Stereolab, The Tom Tom Club, Talking Heads, Sea & Cake, and The Zombies, Call and Response's junction of dual male/ female vocal exchanges are featured on their first single "Rollerskate," which was released on Shelflife Records in January of 2000. The self-titled debut followed on Kindercore a year later. Winds Take No Shape marked the band's first release for Badman in 2004.
