canary yellow makes dance music that thrives in the in-between - melodic yet propulsive, intricate yet explosive, delicate yet undeniably physical. On the 'Angel Club EP' for London label Faux Poly, the Los Angeles artist showcases a sound that carries the precision of UK techno & house with the fluidity of American bass music.

The title track is a dark, percussion-heavy breakbeat cut built for deep, focused dancefloor moments that leans on UKG and US influenced 2-step vibes with a low-end pulse and energetic vocals. "Front to Back," created in collaboration with fellow LA producer Next to Blue, is a high energy dub-infused house track driven by a simple, rolling groove and hypnotic chord stabs that create a suspended, atmospheric tension and euphoric release. Rounding out the EP is a peaktime four-on-the-floor reimagining of "Angel Club" that lifts the mood with a lighter bouncier energy while retaining its rhythmic precision and immersive flow of the original.

Since debuting on CloudCore with ‘Waterlily’, his sound has shapeshifted across releases on forward-thinking labels like Tabula Rasa, Daisy Chain, Conduit, and Bitbird. As much a producer as he is a DJ, canary yellow has found himself supporting and sharing the stage with artists who helped shape their vision such as Caribou, Conducta, Jacques Greene, Jasper Tygner, O’Flynn, and Villager and many others.

Info: Hailing from Joburg, South Africa, and now based in Bristol, UK, Lo Chi is DJ and producer carving out a unique space in the realms of bass music and techno. His sound, defined by deep sub-bass, sharp textures and dark atmospheres, showcases a mastery of syncopation and hypnotic rhythms. With contemporaries like Henry Greenleaf, Sub Basics and Javano, along with support from influential figures such as Lamont or Yak, Lo Chi is an artist deserving greater recognition in the current electronic music landscape.
“Dead Man’s Switch” marks Lo Chi’s sophomore EP and his debut solo release on Dead Trax, following contributions to the label’s various artists compilations. Featuring 5 original cuts that range from 120 to 130 BPM, DDTX005 is a testament to his creativity and versatility, reflecting the innovative spirit of Bristol’s underground sound.
In Lo Chi’s words, “this EP concludes some moments within my continued practice in production; Some inspired by trips to Berlin’s club scene, some galvanised by mid winter days inside with cyclical rhythm.
