My longest composition yet and my first piece performed in a concert - This is an experimental composition juxtaposing thick electronic textures over smooth acoustic layers, using a structure based loosely on the harmonic series. Part of a set of two compositions ("Integration" is part 2) composed for my MRes portfolio.

A few dozen orbits around the local star

Good for your heart, any time of day or night...

Note: This was a "serial" improv, meaning I improvised the first track I laid down and then improvised the other tracks, one after the other.  Rough recording - just getting my new system together and this was one of the first out of the chute.  Very little, if any editing or effects, EQ, Compression. etc.

Nocturne (Lethe Cocktail Mix)

I am composing, I am composing now. At times like that, the cloth is tangled in the laundromat. In my DAW, I find the answer by picking a color and subtracting it from many intertwining sounds. 
  I decided that the red would be a wind instrument track. Yellow is a group of all rhythmic sounds. Blue and green are synth pads and noise phrases.
 The beginning of composing is fun. Socks, underwear, and towels are intertwined and spinning. But when the music dries in the dryer and it's finished, the good times are over.
  Next is the time to listen to music by artists other than myself.
