Excited to be releasing this banger of a SoundCast out to the world. Proudly presenting xXETEXx queen, AKA NINA, who knows all about the sonic lines and patterns of deep psychedelic techno. Whilst representing one of the OG festival crews in xXETEXx, AKA NINA has also been killing the production game, with recent releases on labels such as Digital Structures, Occultech and Soupherb to name a few. 

You can catch her laying down fat chunks around Europe, in Berlin at clubs such as Sisyphos, and hopefully one day we can see her strut her stuff around our festivals in Aus.

In this show the genre limitations are more flexible, sounds capture your mind to get lost in music. We invite you on a journey into the fusion of psychedelic music, techno and dark minimal. David Phoenix is a Hungarian DJ/Producer based in Vienna. Being on the abstract side of the techno and minimal world, his music offers a dark driving flow, built into structured patterns. David's continuous productivity makes him a fast growing artist in the scene and his productions have been published on many respected labels. He launched the Monthly Darkness podcast series in 2020, promoting the newest releases and forthcoming tracks.

So excited to welcome our next podcast guest, Benjamin Philippe Zulauf (Hummingbird by BPZ), who will be bringing the vibes to our series with an incredible and eclectic two-hour journey...

Bio:
This story must begin with an old Roland analog drum machine and a well used Juno synthesizer over many a late evenings ago in the late 90s. Before clubs, warehouse raves and second hand record stores, it was just some young guy with his gear in a cool basement out in the Australian countryside, making up beats purely on instinct and hours of experiment. These are the core essentials if you like to what makes this multi-national, multi-tasking and multi-skilled artist tick.

Benjamin Philippe Zulauf is no stranger to change and evolution, his own music has been heavily influenced from different cities he has lived in, from Melbourne with the likes of Phil K, Revolver and Honkytonks to Lausanne with La Ruche, Ripperton, Agnés and Digitaline making their mark. Then it was Berlin with the likes of Mike Shannon, CDV, DJ Sotofett and Panorama Bar to currently in Leeds with Cosmic Slop and Hope House showing the way. You will hear bits off of these scenes in his sets and music productions, be it techno, deep house, electro, acid, break beats or minimal electronica, it is less about a genre and more about feeling and a story being played out. 

You will find Benjamin these days still hard at work and pushing forwards with new material. His label is now established and his own productions are being championed by the likes of Laurent Garnier, Peace Division, DJ Rolando (UR), LTJ Bukem, DJ Bone, Fred P, Terry Frances, Barac, DJ Sprinkles and Âme. It would not be out of place to say that he has earned this over the past years and that nothing ever comes without the hard work and dedication to that love of drum machine and synthesizer noise.

New Zealand feels like a home away from home and I always enjoy playing there. This time was super special because it's been a few years between visits and I was accompanied by some of the closest Aussie producers/DJ's. Following on from my brother @pspiralife, it was great to bring the tempo up ad bang it out!
