Monotronique is an Ukrainian producer and DJ from Kharkiv (UA). His production is characterized by a distorted minimalistic vibe with a bass music inuence. From heavy basses and 2step-like drums to ambiance landscapes and electro beats. In his performances he is able to amalgamate pure and raw passion with a textbook technique; this combination is also what is behind his prolic production. Previously released on Opal Tapes and Shared Meanings among other labels, Monotronique debuts on Hyperboloid Records with 'MAAAAAAAD' 
 
In this album Monotronique was interested in a new kind of sound and focusing on creation of specific atmosphere inside.the sound. MAAAAAAAD is based on different sides of bass music with detours through dance-hall and house. When put together all genres mutate and interconnect into funny and mad atmosphere, hence the title of the album. Monotronique wanted to achieve this with synths and a certain way of mixing  tracks, adding to the final mix a kind of a "wet" sound. A special effect as if you were listening to the music in a room full of toys, balls and balloons, a sonic journey to the amusement park.

While being isolated we try to find inspiration in current surroundings and situations, limited in capacity yet strangely living almost entirely online social life. Something we thought and talked about since forever, not being aware of how it will turn out.

cadeu has been collaborating with Hyperboloid for almost 5 years. During this time, the musician managed to explore completely different paths in sound design and production. From the emptiness and fragmentation of the 'de' album to experiments on format compositions on 'un'. Hyperboloid is always open to the experiments of his wards, which allowed the author to try out a variety of ideas in the search and understanding of his own sound and approach to electronic music in general. So, on 'hy', an album named after the label, cadeu doesn't try to put any heavy conceptual forms on the tracks, but rather plays with space, snatches of musical phrases and blocks of composition. The result is an intricate, but comprehensible sound pattern at the same time, with references to different styles - be it bass, IDM, glitch or jungle. As always, cadeu's music is difficult to characterize with genre clichés - 'hy' can be both a club and home thing, or just a fan piece. Tracks can be safely put in sets, you can walk to them with headphones or thoughtfully explore this diverse sound canvas.

cadeu сотрудничает с Hyperboloid уже почти 5 лет. За это время музыкант успел исследовать совершенно разные пути в саунд-дизайне и продакшне. От пустоты и фрагментарности альбома 'de' до опытов над форматными композициями на 'un'. Hyperboloid всегда открыт экспериментам его подопечных, что позволило автору опробовать самые разные идеи в поиске и понимании собственного звука и подхода к электронной музыке в целом. Так, на 'hy' [хай], альбоме названном в честь лейбла, cadeu не пытается натянуть на треки какие-либо тяжелые концептуальные формы, а скорее играет с пространством, обрывками музыкальных фраз и блоками композиции. Получается замысловатый, но в то же время понятный для восприятия звуковой узор, с отсылками к разным стилям, будь то bass, глитч, IDM или джангл. Как и всегда музыку cadeu сложно охарактеризовать жанровыми клише - 'hy' может быть и клубным и домашним, и просто фановым произведением одновременно. Треки можно смело ставить в сетах, гулять под них в наушниках или вдумчиво исследовать это многообразное звуковое полотно.

Music has been a universal language that I feel the most at home with. It enables me to find commonality and connection with others, with an availability of rich vocabulary transcending the limitations of words alone.

I began writing and producing in the late 90's under the names of Pyramids and Autonomy. These first tracks were released on Evasive Records.

In 2000 I went on to establish my own label alongside Daniel Poli and initially with Davor Basic, who went on to host his infamous parties where many of the Suspect Package artists gathered and performed.

I had met Daniel Poli at Swag records while recording "One Time" and was the first installment on Suspect Package. 

Suspect Package was all about the unexpected, a label run by artists for artists.  A platform for up and coming undergound talent to break out and showcase their material. 

The ethos of Suspect Package was built on an attitude to remain as a steadfast  resistance against the conformity of settling on dumbed down formula.

It was a commitment that continually demanded and questioned all boundaries, that packaged musical concepts within boxed up; notional barriers. 

Suspect Package had 9 releases from 2001 - 2005 the artists:
Autonomy, Chris Pascoe,  C-Soul,  Daniel Poli, Earth Deuley, Filth, Iteration – X,  Marky Star and Red & Blue.

14 years on, Daniel Poli, detonated Suspect Package's 10th  "Long time coming" and showcased artists works by Dav, Marky Star, Sounds of the Suburbs and The Buddy System. A reminder what it is all about. 

My musical collaborations have included Rob Pearson, Lee Humphreys and Daniel Poli.

In 2003 I enrolled at Dartington College of Arts with turntables as my main instrument. The institution in its relatively short history had acquired an international reputation as an innovative centre for contemporary practice. It was one of only few in Britain devoted exclusively to specialist practical and theoretical studies spanning right across the arts.  

My studies did expose me to practical and theoretical questions regarding the role of the arts in the wider world. This experience catapulted me out of the studio production setting and out the confined limitations of my own thinking.  

It impacted the relationship I had with instruments, music and more specifically sound.  In doing so it created endless possibilities. 

The highlights:

6 minutes peice composed for a DJ mixer, guitar amp, voice, heart beat and a French 
speaking radio broadcast.

Loop capture arrangements: 

For female voice accompanied by children's music boxes.

For Electric guitar and Ebow.

A collaboration of flutes and rain stick with cello, guitar  accompanied by the River Dart and South Devon Railway's GWR 1366 class steam train.

A live remix of 8 minimal Techno and Electro Break tracks. Performed as  one track by 2 DJ's, 4 decks, 1 CDJ and two basic mixers ie no effects, loop recording or sampling functions. The duration of the remix was equivalent to the length of a new single track. 

(This project included concepts of notation relative to the DJ and turntables. Both traditional western notation scoring and graphic scores.)

2 Sonic Art peices and sound design from environmental captured audio. The Spirit of Fire - Backdraught is one of those peices.

Theoretical studies that have captured my imagination are the works of, experimental and minimalist composer's, Steve Riech, Terry Riley and John Cage. Looking at repetition, phasing, chance processes and tape loops. Composers Ligeti and Penderecki detailed layers that achieved textured avant-garde sound scapes and the interlocking patterns ubiquitous to Gamelan.

These enriched musical exposures are set into my musical foundations as I continue to create.
