In 1999 Dutch label "Polar State" released the track "Where Are You Now?" by The Generator, an alias of Robert Smit. Robert is a childhood friend of Ferry and they used to produce lots of tracks together. 

"Where Are You Now?" got released including a remix by Ferry Corsten under his Moonman alias.

I made this rework as a tribute to Keith Flint who as I'm sure you know passed away earlier this year. 

Keith and The Prodigy are who got me into dance music at a young age and to this day are still my biggest influence and my favourite group.

I wanted to create this so that his iconic vocals would hopefully be heard again on stereos and systems around the world. Please feel free to share this.

Dutch producer Rolfiek has trance on the mind, uplifting trance in particular. If you have followed his productions you know for sure he is one to keep on the lookout for.

His next offering to the dance music community is a reminder of a time when things were simpler and happier. 'The Good Old Days' is as you may imagine an uplifting trance anthem in all its glory. Ruthless, acid-like synths and a squelchy bassline are accompanied by the right amount of heavy percussion as melancholic synths of yesteryear pave the way to the big break. Marching drums, guitar riffs and enigmatic vocal chops float among lush strings, preparing the grounds before the grand slam of energy and melancholy is unleashed.

Based on Steve Marks review on Twitch of my 5 month old track, I opened up my old project and tried to use the tips he gave me with the vocals/lead and widening of the stereo image.
I also gave the mix a complete makeover, as apparently I didn't have FabFilter plugins back then and hadn't learned about gainstaging yet.

I like the new mix better, as a lot of sounds are way less high frequencies now and all sounds combined are more harmonic EQ wise.
Especially the lead sound are now more wide and full, without taking over the image when the vocal is also present.

The rolling trancebass also got boosted in the low frequencies and widened a bit. Also the open hihat got completely replaced, as it was almost impossible to hear it in the original mix.

The vocal itself is still slightly wierd some places regarding rythm and tune, and might have too much reverb/delay, but I'll hopefully learn to fix that in another 5 months from now :)
