It has been all quiet on the Optimo Music front recently while energy has been devoted to the launch of Optimo Trax but do not fear, there are a plethora of scintillating releases in the pipeline for 2014.

First up is a stormtrooper of an EP from The Twins. We first met The Twins when they were hanging out in Glasgow before they were twins and were simply known as Julienne Dessagne. By the time our paths had crossed in various European capital cities they had fully developed their Twin like tendencies. A mutual appreciation was born and out of that came the suggestion that The Twins might make a record for Optimo Music. The resulting three tracks far exceeded our wildest expectations and we are incredibly proud to be presenting this Twins magnum opus to the world. Haunting, forceful, transcendent music with spine tingling vocals this EP has perhaps a tad more dancefloor capability than many Optimo Music releases but is also a record equally capable of giving your ears a lot of loving at home. 

It was hard to pick one track to showcase the EP but this one is the one that has perhaps been tested out on the dance floor the most and always results in people clamouring to know what it is. The kind of track that completely changes the atmosphere in a club and often results in spontaneous cheering, it has been mixed to perfection by The Twins ally, Superpitcher who will be releasing their debut album on his and Rebolledo's Hippie Dance label.

Expect Twins live shows in 2014.


This will be released on a three track 12" and digital on March 17th 2014. Distribution by Kompakt.

Something unexpected is coming your way - our family member Serial Experiments has teamed up with one of the producers of the year (or five years in a row at least?) Tolouse Low Trax, and the outcome is this weird number, coming out September 15th on both vinyl and digital. Compiled by DJ Sofa, "Elsewhere MCMXIII" on Debruit's label ICI is one of those releases that, without any doubt, will be played everywhere!

Greek duo Dizharmonia mystically dip their paintbrush into sounds of a faraway time and space, rooting them into a dark and ethereal present. With this EP, they travel towards deep realms of the ancient world, carrying listeners along a misty progressive trip. Rather than the destination, it is the atmospheric movement of the journey which creates meaning and leaves our minds full of dreams. Telos takes flight on cascading synths that seductively curl like the rolling hills of glistening Mediterranean islands. Fos is an evocative march forward to the tune of sharp percussions and acid rhythms. Alexandria concludes the trip with a dark and glitchy groove, gliding off in the distance guided by the ancient Alexandrian lighthouse. Fellow dreamers encountered along the road’s twists and turns enhance it with more magic; French artists Pandhora pick up the tempo with their trademark soulful psychedelia, while deep tech maestro Veytik carves a haunting space for vocals. Modern and evocative, we are delighted to share this expedition with you.

¡Escúchame, Cabrón! is a limited-edition C50 cassette announced for pre-order on International Women's Day and made up exclusively of female artists or groups and collaborations featuring a strong female presence.

The purpose of the release is to bring to light, in our own small way, the systemic violence and oppression of women in Spain and around the world and to highlight the incredible female voices present in industrial and synthwave music today.

Spain is a country close to our hearts. It's a beautiful, historic, energetic and culturally-rich nation. Today, the problems women have to face in a society that is generally a privileged population are completely unnecessary. Problems such as being cross-examined in rape trials, gang rape cases being downgraded to sexual assault and an abundance of domestic violence. An average of one woman in killed by her partner per week.

In 2017 Spanish courts received more than 166,000 gender violence complaints against woman - a 16% increased on the year before. Spain is certainly not an exception. Some national studies show that up to 70 per cent of women have experienced physical and/or sexual violence from an intimate partner in their lifetime.
