Grass roots development of Underground Music can’t begin anywhere but in your own backyard. “The other London” (Ontario) has been home since 2000 when it was obvious the city has a small scene compared to Toronto, but in amongst the student traps that play crappy club music there is a thriving underground music culture, both instrumental and electronic. My aim is to connect and help provide a platform for emerging, or already established DJs and producers a chance to play more regularly for peers and other fans.  

There are some amazing sets from young and from “more experienced” artists in South Western Ontario. Not yet considered stalwarts, there are killer sets from household names and ones that will be for years to come. Enjoy 

Personally, I have been grooving and toe-tappin to 🏠 music since 1997 when the Toronto underground scene was hopping, in clubs, plus the rave scene was sick. Talents like Mark Oliver, Jeff Mills, Joey Beltram, Kenny Glasgow were the local backbone of a thriving scene that drew in some of the world’s best. 

Mark Farina, Carl Cox, Sneak, Derrick Carter, Honey Dijon and many more House-Moguls spoiled my ears and soul and left me wonting more...

I eagerly purchased a used, DJM-500 and a couple Technic 1200’s and my vinyl collection took root. 

Recently dusted off my records so my daughter could start spinning. Soon after I entered the digital world and have enjoyed jumping into massive pool of tracks/talent from around the globe.

Camcussion is a DJ and electronic music producer. Having purchased a Boss DR-110 at a pawn shop just after DEMF 2, camcussion slowly began adding a belt-driven turntable and various toys to his rudimentary setup. Many years later, his repertoire is diverse, with styles ranging from acid techno, electro, and IDM, to drill and bass and abstract electronica. 

Camcussion resides with the labels Detroit Underground, Museum of Skin, The Seed, Crystal Vortex, Section 27, and regularly features on The Senda Sessions with Up Digital, The Bassment Detroit and Planet Funk. Camcussion collaborated with Qwiet Eye, Ace Prime Selector (now Ace Beaming Sun) DJ-u4ic, and TINTIN. He was also partners in radio for years as The Neighbour on Kero FM. Camcussion is also a core member of local synth collective Signal Exchange. 

Aside from electronica, camcussion also plays guitar and sings, enjoys photography and videography, loves and has performed standup comedy and generally likes being productive and creative. He is currently working on a new album, as well as collaborating with friends David Chesley and Elpine.
