DJ Rascal ... A Living Legend ♔

DJ Rascal was one of the most emblematic DJ's of his generation and one of the most successful technically in France during the closing decades of the 20th Century. In 1988 he became Luxembourg Champion and Vice European champion next year in 1989, and then participated in the DMC technical Championship French final for the world championships no fewer than 10 times between 1988 and 2000. 
He was also a pioneer in many areas of DJing.  He invented the concept of "boys band turntablism" - team 
scratching concept - in 1990 with a first show at the Hourtin military base (France) a full year before the first appearance of Q-Bert in a U.S. TV show in 1991. Though Q-bert is remembered as the inventor of that style, he is not and it is time to render unto Caesar what is Caesar's. 

DJ Rascal was also one of the first to self-produce an After Hip-Hop & New Jack mixtape on Cd in 1997-98.  Up until then  K7 had been the dominant format employed.  The production of a 24 minute mix After 
Hip-Hop composed solely of breakbeats, intros, interludes and scratching helped to bring a unique 
atmosphere to the scene at that time. 

But above all, his greatest strength is his ability to adapt to any type of music programming as well as 
animation shows.  His 40 years of experience spinning in clubs, with and without micro-animation, combined with his sharp festive programming, and impeccable technique, make of him a complete DJ able to play any style – House, Techno, Lounge, Chillout, Acid Jazz, Soul, Funk, Disco, Rap / Hip-Hop, R'n'B, French or international variety, etc.   

It  would take too much space here to review the career of DJ Rascal in full, but if we were to summarize a few highlights, then we would certainly keep in mind the hundreds of scratch demonstration shows, concerts, entertainment & nightlife clubs in France, Belgium, Luxembourg , Spain, Switzerland, etc. There were also countless radio and TV shows, not to mention that he was one  of the pioneers of Hip-Hop and DJing in the late 80's along with DJs such as DJ Dee-Nasty.  He helped democratize Hip-Hop and the art of DJing in France with MC’s including Destroy Man and Johnny Go, Lionel D, as well as others too numerous to name. 
He is considered as one of the most respected DJ's of his time. 

Still, his story is not finished ...

DJ, presenter and producer born in 1982 in Silesia, Poland. He developed his musical passion already in childhood thanks to his father’s rich collection of recordings, who hosted radio shows. Inspired by artists such as OMD, Pet Shop Boys or Jean Michel Jarre, from his youngest years he was fascinated by melodic sounds, which over time led him to electronic music.
In the 1990s he discovered dance and eurodance styles, and the breakthrough was his fascination with productions by ATB, Sash!, Darude or Paul van Dyk, which resulted in his first original tracks and remixes, including an instrumental remix of Sash! – “Ecuador”.
The beginnings of his DJ career were performances on internet radio CYBERStacja under the pseudonym DJ RaFiTi, and later Ra-Fee. 
Thanks to radio DJing, in 2002 he made his debut behind the club console and shortly after, together with GeeSee, created the duo GeeSee & Ra-Fee. Their debut single “Where Is The Beat” conquered dance floors and club charts, earning a spot on 17 Klubowych vol.2 compilation, and subsequent productions and remixes for Sumptuastic and Exterminal were officially released by Hit’n’Hot Records.
RAF performed in clubs throughout Poland, including during the exceptional opening of the Club Music Marathon at the Protector club, where he had the honor of opening before the legendary Steve Murano.
After emigrating at the end of 2005, he played one last event in Rugby UK (February 2006). He sporadically released new tracks (“Ultra Chill” – Aurovine 2012) and participated in remix competitions.
After 20 years he returns to the role of presenter on CYBERStacja radio with his original show “TranceFuzja” and is currently determined to try his hands at Trance sounds, which were always his goal… returning to his musical roots after a 12-year break.
