XX is a debut single from Tori Music, the new Label created in 2020 from the german producer Jacob Groening based in Berlin. 

Four tracks form the first Ep which marks the last production which is being released from productions created by Jacob Groening in 2020. The first track is an electronic piece without percussions. An interlude becomes a synthetic orchestra with unforeseen effects and ending. Ladok combines chords with cut off staccato arpeggios with a Iranian voice that hugs the song composition in one piece. XX is the title track of this ep and is the more demanding track but at the same time soft and pulsating. Enjoy varanasi the last track which is a more expressive instrumental track.

What you are about to hear is not just any sunrise DJ set, but the farewell sunrise DJ set for a community I love and hold dear to my heart: NotaSexParty (aka NASP). 

It is also not a DJ set for just any random crowd, but rather a curation of humans that always inspire me to be my best self. Therefore, it is not a coincidence; in my humble opinion, that perhaps this is one of the best DJ sets I have woven in front of a live audience in my 20+ years of DJ craft. No detail was spared on every transition, every choice of track

On the crowd side of things it was no less epic. 

There were some people’s first time crowd surfing while The Beatle’s “Hey Jude” played as our second to last anthem as the sun FINALLY came out on our last day of camp. There was a giant circle of human chain of friends shoulder-dancing to LCD Soundsystem’s anthem “All my Friends” while we screamed/sang the lyrics from the top of our lungs. 

There was also an epic crowd sit-down right before all of this and before we slowed down our heart beats to a soft stop in unison… 

I only went there (to all of those places) because the crowd made me feel comfortable enough to do so.

It was the perfect storm of “epic-ness”. When I listened to it for the first time since performance, I realized that the musical story told here was a 2.75-hr long continuous anthem, one where I couldn’t believe we had another 40 minutes of high dance floor energy, and so I had to stop for a moment and ask for consent to keep going down “the (musical) rabbit hole”.

We danced, we laughed, we cried, we sweated, we loved, we jumped, we stomped, we screamed, we head-banged, we sang, we drummed (with Noah - @noahappel - love you brother) like a defiant crew of rebellious circus hippies in a magical co-created land… on a fucking Monday morning. 

No one could stop us. 

It was pure electronic dance music- sunrise Rock n’ Roll.
We were all in this together, we did this together.  

And without further ado, here is the recording of the farewell Sunrise NASP DJ set at the Fairy Forest SummerCamp 2021.

South of the United States?A man participates in a Amerindian Invocation ceremony.

Without understanding what is happening to him or why,
The sound of unknown percussion pierces his eyes.
He loses the notion of reality little by little,
He, now answering only in the name of the devil.
Burns under serious and heavy sounds such a storm. 
The ashes fly away, the wind finishes him as a freeform. 

The man wakes up, in the shadow of his horse 
He regains his senses, it was a dream of course
Continuing his travel, the conquest of the west, the great,
He gets back in saddle, without lose his fate.
When suddenly the heat cut his breath, 
His body memory hit him like the death.

No doubt, if the invocation was a dream,
He still did not wake up, deaf by the scream.
During this moment of lucidity his eyes finally opened
All becomes clear, he is a Tuareg in the middle of the desert
He screams of nostalgia thinking of this imagined land,
His mouth is so dry, for miles only sand.

After all, why survive, by now he knows that he will die
Then, he closed his eyes, returning to his world in the sky.
