Emerging from a cloud of cheap aftershave, Melbourne duo Low Budget return with their third release Poolside.  Picking up where their 2009 sleeper hit Laserdisc left off, Poolside finds Low Budget continuing to hone their trademark boogie-driven bass-heavy brand of hip hop.  Early single ‘A Hard Act To Follow’ features MC Gentleman Gene dropping quick-witted rhymes over DJ Debonair P’s greasy wild-west finger popping funk.  Meanwhile, the second single ‘Poolside’ finds Gene urging listeners to ‘slip, dip, dive’ into the shimmering depths of P’s pulsating, glossy production.

With all vocals and production handled by the enigmatic pair of Gentleman Gene and Debonair P, the guest-free Poolside bears the trappings of the best straight-to-video movie – unpretentious, brainless, occasionally sleazy entertainment that doesn’t wear out its welcome.  Featuring ten songs (including new tracks and reanimated classics) blended together to create a seamless whole, the EP offers a listening experience that is uniquely cohesive.  True renaissance men for the modern age, Poolside is independently released and distributed through Low Budget’s self-funded Gentleman’s Relief Records label, on myriad formats including vinyl, CD, digital download and cassette tape.

Emph n Treats are an Australia hip hop duo that have been destroying stages and opening minds for over 12 years now. Their high energy live set not only has you jumping through the roof but they have a great message and stay close to the roots of hip hop. Their passion is infectious, and their vibe is undeniable.

Originally from the Sunshine Coast, now on the Gold Coast the two emcees Emphasise and Treats met as teenagers and have built a friendship ever since that has forged an unmistakable bond and connection, they are often mistaken for brothers just by the way they know each other inside out. This is immediately apparent when you see them live. Their synchronicity is a sight to behold, its almost as though they share one mind, they even finish each others sentences.
Equally proficient freestyling or performing pre-written tracks, they have a rare ability to mesmerise and silence even the most outspoken emcee with their technical proficiency and creativity. 
2016 has been a huge year for them securing ongoing sponsorship from the likes of Fiik Electric Skateboards, SIN Eyewear, Landyachtz Skateboards and Ozhiphopshop they have seen a great deal of exposure and some great supports for the likes of PHfat, Slaughterhouse(2017), The Outlawz(2017).
They are currently on an Australian tour with Brisbane MC Masterwolf and will be playing shows in most states over the next few months and have plans to do another Tour in Europe and a first in North America in the next 12 months.
After a two year hiatus, with Emphasise touring Europe with this other hip hop group Wreckinsile the two reunited in late 2015 to put some serious work together. After recruiting well established Gold Coast drummer, Fishy,(Lotus ship) and Brisbane DJ (Jackal) the group are now ready to take over the world with their music and have never been so driven to offer an unforgettable performance. Whether they are rocking to a sold out show or to a private party, Emph n Treats never disappoint and bring an unrivalled energy and sense of fun that Australian hip hop has been dying to see.
Their upcoming LP have them working with the likes of, Masterwolf, Kudos, Syntax Junkies, Dyslexic and Jesswah, Wreckinsile and Spit Syndicate and some international producers.
They live and breathe hip hop and with the majority of their influence from the golden era, 90’s, they have a set that will make you both move and think. Keep a sharp eye out for these two, with the momentum they’re building they will surely be on the world stage soon.
After a recent tour of Australia the boys are working on a new release as well as maintaining large shows!
They recently opened for Butterfingers and have huge ambitions for this year.
