The engagement that over 3 hours of mixing requires is demanding as there is nowhere to hide. For this mix I was really excited to explore a plethora of sounds and genres across a span of BPMs. Building to moments and allowing for the entirety of the mix to speak a detailed narrative allows the listener to phase in and out of concentration. The set includes a large amount of original and unreleased work whilst also featuring a large incorporation of Australian artists that I admire. I would like to thank the team behind Flow Music for enabling such a great experience and for providing many people with amazing opportunities.

Eine lange Nacht mit vielen Ereignissen ist endlich zu Ende. Nach dem Vorfall mit dem erschöpften Mann verlief die Schicht ohne weitere Vorkommnisse.  Gerade läuft der obligatorische Closing Track vom Raverend aus und die Menge bereitet sich schon darauf vor die heiligen Hallen zu verlassen. Zügig und geordnet werden die Gäste von den ComRa Mitarbeitern zum Ausgang geleitet und der riesige Saal ist bald leer. Viele der Leute wirken sehr müde, sie haben mal wieder alles auf der Tanzfläche gegeben. Kaum einer fragt, ob irgendwo noch etwas geht. Die Meisten wollen nach dieser intensiven Nacht einfach nur nach Hause. Auch ich möchte nur noch ins Bett und endlich zur Ruhe kommen. Lighter scheint mir meinen Wunsch anzusehen und schickt mich noch vor Schichtende in den Feierabend. Für meinen ersten Abend habe ich mich gut geschlagen, sagt er mit einem Zwinkern.
Etwas zerknirscht Suche ich meine Sachen und schlendere durch das große Haupttor hinaus. Mein Kopf ist voll mit Gedanken, ja geradezu verstopft. Es scheint so als könnte ich nichts mehr aufnehmen. Keine äußeren Eindrücke dringen wirklich mehr zu mir durch. Voll automatisiert bestreite ich meinen Heimweg und lasse mich erschöpft ins Bett fallen.

Jack Willard celebrates the spring with Celsius. A modern melodic production released on the Elements 03 by our friends Immersed recordings. 

'Elements' is an EP series intended to introduce fresh artists and new sounds to the label family before they release a larger body of work. The series now hits episode three, featuring two tracks from two fresh artists.

The first comes from New England-native, Jack Willard. This is Jack's debut within the music industry. 'Celsius' is an impressive debut that exudes organic percussion while keeping cool with melodic and progressive house emotions.

The second track comes from French producer, Rebel of Sleep. With releases previously on Space Tale Records and Le Youth's PRGSSN, Rebel of Sleep bridges the gap between the dark tones of melodic techno and the brightness of melodic house. His track 'Marmoreal' explores a more progressive and melodic side.

We've got a special selector playing her Blitz debut upcoming Saturday, the 4th of May: Ceri! And we're happy to have her contributing an hour of music to our Blitzcast series ahead of her performance, too.

Her journey into the world of dance music was ignited by legendary venues like Fabric, Plastic People, and Ibiza’s DC-10 – rites of passage for many UK dance music fans! Now, armed with a wealth of experience and as the label head of Find Your Own Records she’s a marathon-set seasoned selector, focusing on deep house and drawing inspiration from timeless Chicago and Detroit sounds, as well as dubbed-out soundscapes and the grooves of UK-Garage.

> I recorded this mix on a rainy day in Ibiza, so it has some darker, raw and moodier elements, with many tracks having a minor key, plus of course some happier and housier, with some vocal numbers too, to lift those spirits. Most of the tracks are old from the 80's and 90's which is my favourite period for proper House and Techno.

I hope it captures the sounds of Germany, the UK, Chicago, and Detroit, which are all where all my biggest musical inspirations and love for music comes from. One track is currently going for over €100 on discogs, another is the bargain price of €0.55 and just as good (if not better!), some are unreleased, a few are new, one track I got someone to bring all the way from the USA for me, and in my opinion, all are timeless, which is what I love. I only play music that touches my soul in some way... 

I am very happy and honoured to be playing Blitz Club, a place with such a revered music policy, great line ups, and a no camera rule, which always makes the best nights for me. 

When there are no phones on the dancefloor, the crowd are always so much more open and up for it, because they are there for the music first. I always feel like I let loose even more when I am in places like this too, I feel more comfortable to dance like crazy, sweat, and experiment more. I am really looking forward to seeing what happens on Saturday... I don't know what will happen yet because I have to feel the energy on the night to know where to go. And I am sure we will go on a beautiful journey together.
