mISSkARA is a Melbourne-based DJ, vocalist, and co-producer known for high-energy sets that get the d floor pumping. mISSkARA delivers soul-stirring sets that go beyond DJing, mass sound immersions in fact blending bassy, melodic, and vocal-driven sounds, flowing into tech & bass house then a good dose of techno or psy trance when the dancefloor is ready! This is all amplified by her contagious dance moves that unleash wild, movement for all on the dancefloor to embody! (You’ll know what we mean when you see it) Now an internationally travelling artist, she has recently returned from Europe where she played in Croatia, The Netherlands and Montenegro (where she was offered a residency at Torch Beach Club). mISSkARA has been on stages at events across Australia such as Rabbits Eat Lettuce (Glow Party), Modyfyre, Burning Seed, Confest, Lab Leaked Beats, Mystic Valley, Pre Genesis, Radonia, Terrestrial Awareness and performed at venues including Club KUCA Wonderland, Lemon Tree, ASTRA x JUMP, CIRCUS Nightclub, and Temperance on the Chapel Street. As a recording artist, her debut single Through the Forest with ASHMACRO blends heart opening melodic house with ethereal vocals and has already gathered thousands of streams. Their follow up, You Are Not Alone, is a deep tech cut with minimal lyrics and a powerful message. 2025 saw the release of "SAMSARA" with Bufo, JNR Boom & RepliKator, showcasing her range from deep tech to melodic techno and her ethereal vocals with light language induce goosebumps time and time again. SAMSARA was remixed into a bass heavy banger by Maxwell Mortisville and hit the sound platforms September 19 this year. As the founder of Dance Tribe, “a sober dance party experiment” by Music Is Medicine, she creates spaces for connection and healing through dance. Dance Tribe held monthly in Melbourne and recently launched internationally in The Netherlands, is proving to be quite the beacon for people to flock to each month for some good old fun...hangovers none! Her side project, kARMANTRA, showcases live shamanic vocals and sound healing, captivating audiences at festivals like Rainbow Serpent, Earth Frequency, and Esoteric Festival. Passionné de musique électronique underground dans les années 90 , j'achetais ma première platine à l'âge de 15 ans , lorsque j'enchainais des morceaux avec une platine vinyl , un cd , une k7  !!!

J'achetais ma première paire de platines en 1996 , dès lors je me mis à mixer des disques vinyls entre eux et de là est née ma passion pour cette musique ...

Je commençais donc a mixé et à organiser mes premières soirées free party étant donné que le Hardcore était plutôt une musique de " teuf " , j'aimais par dessus tout cette musique énergique et rythmée , je jouais donc dans beaucoup de grosses soirées de ma régions ...

The roots of this project were birthed through street performance, and an improvised exploration of sound - a uniquely organic synthesis of the live and the electric - music that is created, produced and performed before your eyes in real time.

Free form beat discovery without restraints or limits - percussion, samples, bass, synths and chords opened up live in an always original expression - improvisation taking place in the midst of song structures that are constantly re-established as they are allowed to grow anew each performance. 

Forever listening for what the groove wants to become, no two sets are the same as musical tools and elements are continuously reconfigured between shows with a persistent motion towards the freshest of freshness. The sound sourced through these fingertips takes it’s influences from the realms of hiphop, dub, electro funk, neo-soul and all realms of psychedelia.

Having once upon a time graduated from a Bachelor of Music in Jazz at the University of Canterbury, John has since been performing as a bass player and electronic producer in numerous bands across a great diversity of genres through the years in both New Zealand and Australia. Recently he has been making his mark on the streets and scenes of Melbourne city as a regular performer and inner city busker - enticing passersby into an ever evolving world of sound. A passion for the exciting intrigue and fresh feels that come with mixing genres - plus a strong love for both live and electronic music - has John exploring this new horizon, bringing it all together in a captivating new twist that will take you away to another place.
