Born on the island of Dominica, Miggie moved to Jamaica, Queens as a young girl and was heavily influenced by the sounds of the city. She began singing at her island church home and was writing poetry at just 7 years old. 
Later drawing inspiration from artist such as Jean Grae, Lauryn Hill, Lil Kim and Erykah Badu— Miggie has a distinct voice and sound that is able to capture any song.
