Anyone that knows me knows how much I love Weezer. A family friend of my parents gave me Pinkerton on cassette when I was 11. I used to just sit on my bed and play it over and over again on this shitty little tape player we had. I must have listened to those first 2 albums thousands of times in the 20 plus years since. I still don’t really know what it is I love about them so much, I mean it must be the songs but I'm not sure why they have stuck with me for so long when so many other songs and artists have come and gone. I always thought they sounded really familiar but at the same time so unique and original. Out of all the great songs Rivers has written I think this is my favourite, and because I’ve purposefully been avoiding covering acoustic songs I felt I had to do the opposite with this one. As it’s already just a vocal and acoustic, instead of stripping it back I thought I better try and flesh it out. I hope I haven’t ruined it.
