Culturalis 008 - Simone Bauer

Emerald Garden is happy to open its ambient podcast channel with a first episode written by the talented Letvian artist living in Germany Laima Adelaide.

Laima is a student in classical composition at University of Music and the Performing Arts of Stuttgart, and yet, she shines by creating atonal and tuneless sounds. Her compositions are filled with wet and organic textures that will drive your soul to the farthest swamps. We are super happy to have her for our first podcast.

Our podcast series continues, this month’s story is told by Utopian. 

Southern Spaniard from Jaén, Isidro is a storyteller in favor of deep long journeys. His particular style can be described as the commingling of ambient with incursions into dub and experimental music as well as tribal textures. Today’s session is a landscape of different feelings and textures combining old gems with modern organic sounds. 

‘ I always try to make something special and craft something as personal as possible with harmonious and smooth transitions. At the moment, I am obsessed with mixing at 80-90 bpm because I believe you can achieve higher degrees of intensity despite the low speed. I am in the constant process of exploring the possibilities of mixing music so who knows what I’ll be playing next? ‘

"Saebius (@saebiusmusic), the mysterious Marseille based young talent draws on a wide range of stylistic influences from Radiohead to Monolake. It led him to produce his own ambient and techno sound based on atmospheres and rhythms.  After 6 years experimenting sound design he finally released his first promising EP in 2017 on Lowless called Water Memories. He received good support from the scene. It was the occasion to share for the first time his singular hypnotic and melancholic signature. His second appearance on the label as remixer in the Four Sides of Orithyia released in November 2018. This offered him more visibility and support from actors like the respected Monument media. It naturally drove him into some other projects in 2019/2020 with an EP release on Ritualism (@ritualism-records) and  his Lifeform LP on Agos Universe (@agardenofsound). In 2022 Saebius released "Lurk in The Water" for the famous compilation "Rhizome" on Lowless (@lowless-music) and a new album is already scheduled on this same label in 2023".

“The discovery of the place, diving into the valley, very green at the end of spring. To discover the dome under which I met many friends, DJs, producers, label managers, the community. The moment when I really got into my set was special,  realising that the crowd is great, curious, and very receptive. The sets which follow one another are of great quality, Gëinst and Polygonia in particular were superb! And many other memories…”
