Etienne, originaire des Hauts-de-France, est passionné de musique électronique depuis son adolescence, influencé par la scène dance des années 90. À l'âge de 13 ans, il commence à mixer lors de soirées privées entre amis, développant ainsi une culture musicale éclectique. 
Sous l'influence de son beau-frère directeur de radio et des émissions de DJs locaux, il se lance dans un style techno, House & Clubbing. 
Avec le temps, Etienne impose son style dans différentes résidences de la région, notamment au Carré Rouge (Complexe Keswest)jusqu'en 2010.
En parallèle, il devient DJ résident sur Contact FM en 2006, lui offrant l'opportunité de mixer avec de grands noms de la scène électronique dans divers clubs et événements régionaux et internationaux. En tant que compositeur, Etienne collabore avec Ian Roger et Eddsax, produisant des titres house et des remix pour des artistes comme Ron Carroll et Rod Debyser.
Aujourd'hui, Etienne continue de se produire régulièrement avec Eddsax et/ou A-Free-Violon lors de festivals, bars, clubs, soirées privées de la région, sur la radio Horizon avec une programmation allant de la Deep House à la Techno, en passant par la House rétro.

SHORT HISTORY
- Born in 1983 and 'discovered' New Beat at the end of the '8o's. From that moment, I became a young fan of Electronic Music and started listening the local radio stations & recording my favorite songs on tape (TOPRADIO SIS & Dance Radio Plus). Good points at school resulted in my preferred present: a Compact Disc. I collected all Compilations and learned titles from Producers/Artists by heart. It was a period of listening all weekends to the charts. Local artists were pushed and there was a big local radio-community where greetings were given and you could call asking to play your favorite number.

DEEJAY
- In 1997, I started to collect vinyl records (quite expensive for a student)  although my first opportunities to play them was at the local radiostation and at schoolparties where the majority of the crowd experienced his first night 'going out'.Later on, I continued my musical tour in local pubs, on Wedding & Birthdayparties, business events, some New Years eve parties but also the Belgian clubs, disco's and afterclubs , 

- I was sharing the title of 'Forum Administrator' on a Belgian webforum which became a digital market of clubbing people who shared their emotions, experiences, opinions, musical preferences, publicity for parties and digitalised mixtapes (Legendaryclubs.be)

- In 2006, I made my Thesis about the history of House Music and the Marketing Strategy of N.E.W.S. (2006).

- In 2009 I was involved in a project powered by Studio Brussel (National Radiostation) and sponsored by Red Bull: This Book is Elektronic. A small
selection of articles and flyers representing Belgian nightlife during a period of 30 years. This inspiring book also reveal some interviews with legendary Belgian artists.

COMPONIST - PRODUCER
- In 2021 I started composing or producing my own musical productions. The philosophy I have in the studio is based on 2 convictions. First of all, I remarked during last decades that a lot of new releases within electronic music were reworked, remixed or, at least, resampled music of previous music productions. The House scene gives me an image of deprivation between artists. I fully proof with my music there is still a lot of inspiration available and I always maintain 3 values while working in my studio: NEW, ORIGINAL & EASY.
My second conviction is the role of everybody in this artistical process. The artist is doing 'the artist-thing' and the deejays, radios, public places or 'the crowd' is doing 'the publicity-thing'. We should not gossip about the meaning of good or bad taste neither we should pay for it. In reality, it mean that I do everything on my own: Inspiration, creation, production, mastering & distribution of all my projects without investing 1 cent in it (except my Soundcloud-profile).

Marco Bailey is somewhat considered an icon when it comes to techno and the dance music industry as a whole. It starts with a beat, and for Marco that as in the late 80’s. In 2014 he celebrated 25 years of Marco Bailey, a true achievement for someone who is an ambassador for the scene as well as an amazing DJ and producer. 

He grew up in Belgium, and it all started out when he went to a small local club in his nearby city. At this point, he knew little and didn't have any musical heroes, but soon released that he would rather be behind the decks than on the dance floor. 

His break came in 2000 with his first EP on Carl Cox’s Intec imprint with “Play It Back”. Over the next couple of years he worked on his own imprint, launching MB Elektronics, with the first release in 2002 with “Caprioska”. The releases came flowing over the next few years, which saw the release of his critically acclaimed “Rube Boy” album back in 2004, soon followed by “Dragon Man” LP on John Digweed’s Bedrock in 2011.

His most recent album was with 12 track “High Volume” released back in 2013 on MB Elektronics, dubbed by some techno aficionados as a masterpiece. It was at this time, he also released an up close and personal documentary “Marco Bailey”.

His Electronic Force radio show has been a huge success from the get-go, with almost 300 episodes to date, he has had every artist on board from Carl Cox, Alan Fitzpatrick, Umek, Joseph Capriati, Sam Paganini and Carlo Lio. It’s heard by millions of listeners in more than 50 countries.

Marco has been touring relentlessly throughout his career, he’s an artist who can say he has probably played at almost every club in the world, and been listed at the top of major festivals. He hasn't stopped, and this summer was no exception his MATERIA brand taking a new home at Vista Club, Ibiza. Every Sunday, he offered artists including Sam Paganini, Carlo Lio, Julian Jewell, and Paul Ritch for the closing on the 28th August all came out to party with Marco and the crowd.

You can expect to see the MATERIA brand reach far and wide this year, with parties in London, Vienna, Amsterdam and Tokyo planned this winter. Mid October will see the release of the MATERIA compilation mix, a collection of tracks selected personally by Marco, of both his own releases and all the artists which played at MATERIA in Ibiza this summer. 

2017 continues to be another landmark year for Marco, with his first MATERIA residency considered a huge success, the brand looks to move worldwide, becoming a high-profile label and radio show as well and continuing to grow. He is a true pioneer of Techno, and has no plans to put on the brakes anytime soon.

When releasing new material, and especially when it has been so long as it was with Frank De Wulf …. you are kind of expected to tell a little bit about yourself. So, here you’ll find a quick overview of his career. You’ll discover how one thing led to another, without getting into too much detail.

So here we go! Frank was born in 1968 as the youngest of three boys. Of course with 2 older brothers hanging around, he was introduced to all kinds of music, not just the mainstream tracks you heard on the radio.
He must have been about 10 when he started experimenting with tape decks, later he used his father’s 2-track recorder to make longer versions of hit records.
In high school, he got invited by one of his classmates to visit the local radio station. Impressed with their set-up, he asked if he could try mixing on their 2 ‘Technics SL1200 MK2’ turntables. It felt great! From there he got his own radio show called “Seventh Heaven Radio”. With Frank on the turntables and another guy doing the talking, they brought a whole new flavor to the dance hits of that time. By re-editing, remixing and manipulating the tracks, he wanted to create a particular atmosphere for the listeners and give them the idea that they were experiencing a live set from home.

Frank De Wulf was always into music with a strong, original sound & rhythm no matter the genre: from new wave, dance, electro European and American experimental post-punk with Kraftwerk and the Art of Noise as two of his major influences or dare he say “muses”. That fresh, energetic layered electro sound was something he aspired to bring himself, by creating his own music as well as through his work as a DJ.
After a while people started noticing his ‘work’ and around 1985, he was asked to do a show by a more ‘dance oriented’ radio station called ‘SIS’.

At the time he was regularly, DJ-ing in 2 of Ghent’s dance café’s. It was an excellent way to practice his skills and since he was still at school, these DJ gigs brought some extra money into his piggy bank … because he was also saving up to buy the Yamaha S7000 sampler and an ATARI 1024 Computer. The new beat movement had just started and he started to feel the need to create music rather than just mix other people’s work more and more. So he started to produce his own tracks and make remixes of existing tracks.
One of his first releases as musician/producer was the 12-inch Acid Rock track with his alter ego band Rhythm Device on Music Man Records. Thanks to Olivier Pieters, resident DJ at the famous night club Boccacio (one of the Belgian clubs where New Beat really took off), he could test run the track. To Frank’s surprise and great relief, the crowd loved it. The track became a big hit, and is now seen as a bit of a classic, or so he’s told.

His work as a DJ gave him the idea to make a record just for DJ’s. He wanted to create a kind of tool for mixing tracks while still keeping the familiar theme going. He started to work on several tracks, but due to a lack of time never really got to finish them. He had a series of beats, mixes and samples from international dance hits and newly created sounds that were not really fit to be released as a-side records. So still eager to release them, he decided to call them The B-Sides. The record went through the roof and he ended up releasing 4 volumes (on Music Man Records) plus remixes of them.
Due to the success of the B-sides, Frank was asked to give live performances as well as do DJ sets all over the world. He traveled around Europe, the States and Australia. It was a remarkable period, he met up with other performers and DJ’s, who where all starting their musical careers, people like Joey Beltram, Moby, Derrick May, Sven Väth. They all shared this great appreciation for each other’s work and Frank really felt that people understood his work. With each new sample or musical idea there was this immense reaction on the dance floor. He really felt that the crowd was on his side, the whole time pushing him on and inspiring him to break new boundaries. During his career, there was also Renaat, the owner of R&S records, who kept him inspired and focused. Renaats energy, drive and strong believe in the success of quality dance music had a major influence on Frank’s career.

He decided to start up his own record labels which gave him more creative freedom to release his tracks and do production work for other artists; like remixes for all kinds of artists in and outside the new beat scene like The Shamen & Erasure but also The Orb, Jam & Spoon, Orbital, Biosphere,…

At the end of the nineties Frank felt, he had reached the limits of what he could do with music at that period in time and decided to concentrate on another great love of his: the world of film and post-production.

He founded “GRID” a post-production company specialized in visual effects and motion design for commercials, video clips and films. He kept his musical career going at the back burner doing the odd remix or DJ set. 

So there you are… even though Franks work kept him quite busy and was creatively challenging, music is a part of who he is. Somewhere in the back of his mind, he always knew that this time would come. And now, he can no longer ignore this need to make music, this need to create and let the magic flow again. He hopes you will all enjoy the ride!
