My take on battle music for a fantasy RPG or tactics game. 

Into the Fray! (VGM - Fantasy Battle Music)

I have a confession to make. I love video games, but my attention span doesn't. So, as much as I might enjoy sprawling, open-world RPGs (at least for the first three hours), there's something far less daunting for me about chilling out with a game like Unpacking - which coincidentally is what inspired this track. "Grocery Clerk Simulator" is an ode to my day job, and it's dedicated to anyone who's worked in retail. And, remember... "if it doesn't scan, it must be free!"

Record of Descent is a 2-D platformer that I worked on the music for. Currently, an early demo of the game can be played, with a full version expected to be released next year.

Hi, my name is Damian!

I’m a musician, composer, and producer from Saskatchewan, Canada. I’ve spent the last decade or so performing and recording with my heavy metal bands, Altars of Grief, Subside, and most recently, Northern Graves. To these projects, I have contributed clean and harsh vocals, guitars, bass, as well as worked on choral and orchestral arrangements. In 2015, Altars of Grief was nominated for a Western Canadian Music Award for Metal/Hard Music Album of the Year (for “This Shameful Burden”), and in 2018, won a SaskMusic Award for Best Loud/Metal Artist of the Year. I also make fantasy/dungeon synth music under the name Hircine.

The through line of all these projects has been a passion for telling stories and creating memorable and emotional moments with music. It’s this goal that has led me to an interest in composing for media and games and seeking to help others bring their musical visions to life for their endeavors.
