Hottrax presents the 6th and final instalment of its Tripleution VA series.

This series has been all about label head Jamie Jones exploring the darker side of the dance floor. It has offered up a wealth of exciting new production talents, each with their own distinctive sound and now, for one last time, that is the case again here. 

Dennis Quin is first up and is a fast-rising Dutch talent who does it all from thumping tech to deep house on labels like Defected, Dungeon Meat, and Solid Grooves. His 'Keep Your Head Up' featuring Zoë Phillips is a silky house cut with slick, punchy drums but lithe synths that bring the soul. It has a classic edge but a future twist in the cosmic pads and makes for irresistible dancing. 

Italian house and tech man Pakkio Sans has made his name with big tunes on labels like Endless and here offers 'Spirit Lead Me'. It is a fresh cut with bobbing drums and bass perfectly interweaving beneath funky synth patterns and swinging claps. It's the sort of warm and heartfelt cut to glide floors to the next level. 

Last of all is Barcelona-based Italian Gianni Firmaio, owner of Mushroom Smile Records and a producer for labels like elrow Music and VIVa MUSiC. His 'Chief' is a chunky and tribal sound with bright synth stabs and plenty of percussive detail. It's dynamic and embellished with great vocal samples and twisted pads that ramp up the energy. 

This is a classy final edition of this vital series.

Detroit’s Dantiez and Damarii Saunderson AKA The Saunderson Brothers make their debut on Toolroom Trax with huge Tech House cut ‘Sapphire’. 

The Saunderson Brothers, sons of Detroit techno originator Kevin Saunderson, have over the last years established themselves as fiercely talented DJ/Producers in their own right. Detroit, for both brothers, has always been their home, and coming from a city with such a profound musical heritage has undoubtedly influenced their hotly-tipped sound. 

‘Sapphire’ is another fire addition to their rapidly expanding catalogue. Harnessing the barrelling energy of Techno tempered by the more groove-led rhythms of House.

Goosey makes his Hottrax debut with his two-track ‘Restless’ EP. 

Goosey draws heavily from the Ibiza institution that is DC10. His unique take on underground house has quickly found favour, with high-profile artists such as Marco Carola, Michael Bibi and Joseph Capriati supporting his work. He is one of the breakout names of 2023, taking his forward-thinking sounds to labels like CUFF and BINARY, with this new release another big step in his career. 

For the a-side 'Restless', Goosey looks to the deep house sound of 2012 - big bouncy basslines, repetitive hypnotic vocals and lots of tension on the breaks. He adds extra club focus with his take on the style so the drums hit hard and the warped bass never lets up. Adding in an alluring female vocal with plenty of attitude, you have a surefire winner. 

The superb b-side tune 'Time' all started with the vocal line and has already been played by Jamie Jones in Ibiza to a great reception. "I heard the vocal and immediately knew there was something special about it," Goosey says of the writing process, adding it is a tune very much made with Jones's Paradise parties in mind. "He often plays some quite deep stuff towards the end of the night, and for me personally, it's always those tracks that I really come away remembering." 'Time' is a dark and sensual cut with melancholic chords and vast bass enveloping the crisp tech drums. The vocal is erotic and brings sensuality to the physical drums in a way that is sure to blow up the club. 

This is a standout two-tracker from man of the moment Goosey.

A true Ibiza mainstay, having re-located to the White Isle over a decade ago, holding his longstanding residency at ANTS and recognised via his 2019 award
for Best Ibiza DJ at the DJ Awards, the Chilean favourite has continued to impress with releases on Crosstown Rebels, Moon Harbour and Desolat across recent years. After re-connecting with his roots over the lockdown period before returning to Chile for an extensive tour and hosting workshops to help guide the next wave of Chilean artists, Allendes’ next project comes as a natural next step in the form of his first-ever label, Canibales. A new home for his own productions and to showcase music from across the globe, while also providing a future
platform for rising names from his home country, he opens 2023 with the label’s debut offering, ‘Pressure’.
