I'd had this in mind for quite a while - I'm not too bad with sunsets, after all. The process for this was about as smooth as Finale de Afternoon, which might say something about my musical style. There's two variations of the song to fit different parts of the level: Sunset and Midnight.

I went all out, adding some jazzy piano, realistic guitar fingerings... It was fun. My aim here was to make a bit of a reflective piece on Verdant Valley, something that looks at the first stage with a somewhat nostalgic air.

Waltz of a Lost Soul

More work on Return to Aloha. It's a very busy year for me with writing and what not, but I was happy to get a little downtime to revisit this tune from the first album in the Capel series (Capelspace? IDK.) This tune has a way of popping up constantly throughout the albums in the series, but I wanted  to do a more 80s take on it so it fit in line better with the albums after the first.  Sketch is by Renz!

I wanted to go for a much more authentic Citypop sound. I think I'm getting there... Citypop is my happy place. No matter what, it's a genre that keeps me going, so I had to give it a shot.

here's my first exploration with the elektron model:cycles. I just got it and loving it so far. there's a lot more depth to this groovebox than you might think on first impression.

I started my musical journey with sega genesis fm chiptune, so this to me feels like going back and seeing an old friend. there's so much you can do, it's really not just metallic percussive sounds :)

I associate the key of C minor with a deep, navy blue colour. Water is seemingly also blue, but I wanted to add a hint of "pollution" by having a chord in a key that's different than C minor. The pacing of the track was inspired in part by DKC's slower-paced water songs, but also by lo-fi in general (I feel like that genre is very liquid-y, very easy to listen to)

Learnin' The Grooves

Bajandrus is one of the countries from the Elancia Chronicles series. Verse and company spend a decent amount of time here later in the series. It's got a sort of latin feel to it. Half of the country is jungle and the other half is desert, separated by a mountain range. This is the theme for unnamed towns/villages on the jungle side. My main inspiration for this one was Grandia's OST.
