Wataru Wanlak is a DJ and trackmaker originally from Tokyo, who spent about six years based in Thailand, performing extensively across Southeast Asia. Coming from a musical family, his background includes over a decade of experience as a guitarist, bassist, and drummer across various genres. He developed an interest in experimental progressive rock, then moved into electronic music inspired by artists such as Kraftwerk and Tangerine Dream, as well as techno figures like Ben Klock and Marcel Dettmann.
After returning to Tokyo in 2023, Wataru became known for his vinyl techno house DJ sets and for organizing the “INSTINCT” party series, which brings together innovative artists from the Thai techno and experimental scenes. His music is recognized for its ability to create new grooves and transform dance floors and atmospheres.

Canticle Records is a techno label which aims to transmit its vision and musical culture through hypnotic and groove productions.
