The duo, made up of Maeve (vocalist) and Jasper (multi-instrumentalist), wrote the track with the PRS Hitmaker accredited songwriter and producer Ben Matravers (Easy Life, Josie Pronto). It was the first time any of the three musicians had been into a studio since lockdown, and within two hours of the session beginning, the track was next to finished. Once completed, Ben sent the piece to Lee Smith for mixing (Easy Life, Holly Humberstone), to make it into the track you hear today.

When asked to describe the track, Maeve replied:

Have you ever felt like someone you were close to doesn’t like the person you’ve become? Speak Soon is about that feeling. It encourages you to move on from the those who aren’t supportive of your growth, because you’re worth more than that! Maybe in the future, you’ll meet up, but you probably won’t... instead you’ll text them ‘Speak Soon’ with no intention of speaking at all.

Leeds duo Lucky Iris release their dreamy single ‘Coffee Shop’. The track is produced by Ed Heaton and mixed by Lee Smith (Holly Humberstone, Easy Life) and will be accompanied by pop up appearances in coffee shops across their native Leeds. The release is supported by Launchpad at Music: Leeds.

"Coffee Shop was really just created from our desire to get out into the world during lockdown. Although we were desperate to travel again, we found ourselves really wanting just to sit in our favourite local coffee shop and feel that little sense of normality that comes with being out and about running errands and stressing about running errands. The little things which seemed suddenly so big when they got taken away from us!"

Lucky Iris make heartbreak sound too sweet with their newest track devoted to the heart-broken individuals this Valentine’s Day (14/02/22). This bedroom pop tune invites you to dance along to Jasper’s production debut and cry a bit to Maeve’s honest and relatable lyrics. Mixed by Lee Smith (Holly Humerstone, Easy Life, Sfven) and mastered by Tom Woodhead.
