The second release of the year already from the party music people of Abstrack. This time, it’s Brussels-based artist Strapontin whose original production is on the menu, with reinterpretation from several gifted companions. The multitude here is no excuse for genericity or easy recipes, rather a fertile playground for toying around with a wide range of vibes and moods.

Matches is a poetic, sensual spoken-word piece. The song feels like a flower about to blossom, though with plenty of hybrid DNA in it. In the end, it leaves the way wide open for further emotions to get through. And they do.

Sasnal Park is the emotion of wonder: looking for something forever, but for what? The drums make you believe that you found it but they turn out to be a mirage, and so does every tangible element of the track. A beautiful journey in the end even if you don’t know where you’ve been.

Family Diner … no ambiguity this time: a mystical roller as dark as it is trippy. Or maybe more trippy. Either way, not sure you can resist dancing to this one played out loud. Lose yourself to screaming halfway through, but only to fall back well-rooted in those dancing feet afterward.

On the flip, remixers put it where they’re expected to: A Strange Wedding takes the wandering “Sasnal Park” on the Edge of trancy club music, closer to the roots of Abstrack parties.

Feon turns the belter “Family Diner” into a road roller: sirens and massive subs engage into a memorable fistfight.

And home man Vidock chooses the very dreamlike “Matches”, adding quite a touch of dancefloor but not removing one inch of a dream.

A digital bonus of great value is delivered by the hands of Anatolian weapon, remixing Sasnal Park. This time, no messing around: its full-on club mood, the acid line, and the powerful beats turning the wander and the dream into a strangely haunting dancefloor weapon.

The forthcoming episode of the rising Lyon-based imprint Sharped Records’ saga is dressed to kill! Ukrainian producers Vladyslav Putistin & Lvcerate joined forces and influences to bring to life the very first consequence of their collaboration: “Hot Flashes” is a fierce and well-constructed six-track EP featuring the interesting fusion among EBM, New Beat, and Italo Disco plus shards of Techno divided into three edged originals and three fangy remixes made with love by Lennart, Omon Breaker, and Neu-Romancer & Radondo.

Premiered here, “Unstoppable Beat” lives up to its name and comes wrapped in an intense groovy-meets-darkness aura resulting in one of the highlights of the release. The frivolous drums and percussive elements allied with the superb and sturdy bassline create the perfect environment for the throbbing synth layers to jump in. The vocal hooks and distorted leads bring a menacing atmosphere to the theme.

There was an awkward suspense which hung in the air as the church bells began to ring out across the streets of the small town. People walked out from inside their homes to observe the scene as the marriage ceremony was concluded. It was some sort of meta romance which had brought them together long ago but now everything seemed to have fallen into place for the young couple. They were very much in love and yet were cold to the touch of the outside world...

WORST Records is a French label based out of Lyon, they are set to release a three track EP by A Strange Wedding. Oddball electronics and abstract melodic flutters.

Timothy Clerkin lands at Sprechen with an E.P. of depth charging chuggy acid units for the late night low slung sleazy fanatics, this slo-mo frenzy is for you.

War Wolf gets us off to a thumping start with war call style chants, panpipes (yes panpies!) and an twanging style bass line that sounds like a Jew's Harp made love to a 303. Serious one to file under 'acid-chug-ALFOS balearic-cosmic style shenanigans.

Acid Drive  does indeed drive at warp factor speed and is heavy on the acid! Peak time punching the air tackle that will surely tipple a few braincells over the edge.

Finishing things off is Tim's very won reprise remix of Night Giant's Bleak House cut..originally supposed to drop last year but held back for his debut E.P. Here he eases off the throttle of the original and goes in for something that wouldn't sound put of place during a sundown set in Croatia.
