Cinnaman is part of the infamous Rush Hour Record Store crew. He is also one of the most talented and diverse djs to emerge from Holland. He hosted several clubnights like Viral Radio and Colors at Club 11 and Trouw. You can't really define Cinnaman's..

Born in the south of Holland and started playing music at the age of 12. Cinnaman has also compiled the Beat Dimension compilations wich are focusing on a fresh and invigorating sound coming from L.A, mixing electronic music with R''n'b aesthetics and hip hop drum patterns. Since this project, Yuri has recently been collaborating with Tom Trago and Presk among others, making stepping hip hop and flecked house grooves. He got his DJ name because he was always chewing on candy cinnamon sticks hence his name Cinnaman.

Vancouver based Cloudface has emerged in the last couple of years as someone who is reinvigorating house music with a serene sense of mood. As well as links to Future Times and Black Opal, he has released a hugely sought after 12” on acclaimed Canadian label Mood Hut and works with Max Ravitz as DSR.MR. Born David Reynolds, Cloudface’s music is raw and prickly, yet comes doused in ambient beauty, with emotive pads and tumbling drums countering each other in compelling and comforting ways. 

For his Dekmantel mix, he serves up a sizzling 77 minute selection of own unreleased tracks, some live recordings and special studio jams. It is a great insight into his musical mind and processes that starts in a heavenly, blissful place before slowly drifting into lazy grooves, dubbed out analogue grooves and frosty yet always soul infused beats. The result is a truly wintery yet heart warming listen.

Mr Candle or as he is better known as Vilunki 3000, has been heavy involved in and in the forefront of almost everything in Helsinki's underground scene the last 20 years. Multiple bands, Radio shows at Radio Helsinki, and not to forget an endless amount of design work, posters, flyers, record sleeves magazines, T-shirts etc.
Voted as designer of the year in Finland in 2017. And with out doubt one of the worlds absolute best and most original visual designers ever! With his truly unique style, drawings and humor, a lot based in local community and the Finish language. An uttermost inspirational artist in every way. 1000% and more.

In the mix, a live recording from Tanner Bar in Helsinki, half of the mix made without proper working headphones. Sliding through genres and styles, a lot of Finish music, and obscure tunes. A special listening experience for sure.

Since 2014, Frankfurt- and Offenbach-based label Yappin has been twisting and distorting the conventions of club music. Managed by DJ Slyngshot and DJ Neewt – who are also the label’s main artistic protagonists – the duo’s work sees them attempt to break with tradition – eschewing typical club-label signatures, that often sees artists and labels such as theirs, pigeonholed. Instead, they employ a multi-dimensional stylistic output. You get house grooves with an old-school attitude; instrumental beatmaker nuances; progressive, rattling breakbeats; and otherworldly bass-laden electronics.

For Carhartt WIP Radio DJ Slyngshot and DJ Neewt prepared a mix that showcases their label’s work, with some released and unreleased Yappin material by DJ Slyngshot’s new outfit N.F.O, Neewt productions and the new Yappin artist Babydawg. There’s also music by artists such as DJ Lost and TMO from Australia; Glenn Astro; Bufiman from Düsseldorf; and Leipzig’s Credit 00, whose music aligns with the all-consuming Yappin spirit.

As well as putting together this mix for Carhartt WIP Radio, the two DJs and producers  were also kind enough to give us an extended interview, shedding some light on their work ethos, their views on the digital age, and their unique musical vision.
