Groovin’ from Hungary, Jozsef Bakos

J. Bakos was born in East Hungary, Europe. Music was always part of his life: firstly he started to play the drums in primary school and started to compose, play the guitar and bass in his high-school years.

He spent more than 16 years in Budapest where he played in different bands as a bass guitarist: The Pancakes, Contremarque & Polar Bear Dance.

His own style was influenced by the 90’s west coast rap music, funk, jazz-funk and many other jazz artists. His guitar playing was mainly inspired by Earl Klugh and Paul Jackson Jr.

He has a great relationship with Wesley Brinson (a bass player from New Jersey) who had jam sessions with the members of the Parliament Funkadelic in the 1970’s. He also cooperated with a Hungarian/Canadian female vocalist, Yvette Lakatos.

His own originals were composed, recorded and arranged by himself.

His personal values in life are simple but really important:
