RIP Terry Hall.

I like this song very much. It was written by Jane Wiedlin of the Go-Gos and Hall, apparently following a brief affair, though I didn’t know any of this until reading about it recently after the sad news of Terry Hall’s death in December. I have never before inflicted a cover on the world and if my attempt here works at all I think it’s a demonstration of how a really good pop song can survive a minimal arrangement and a dodgy vocal.

I may end up having to take it down :/ but there are other covers of this on SC already – so something something Mechanical Licencing Collective something something something. Maybe.

February 14, 1990: Voyager 1 takes the last photo of its mission, at about 6 billions kilometers from the Sun. The photo takes Venus, Earth, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune set around the sun. It's a 'family portrait'. By looking at the photo, Carl Sagan will realize how tiny, fragile and unique our planet, our home is. After the photo was transmitted, Voyager 1's cameras were turned off.
