Dear friends, it can seem crazy to write a song about chlorophyll !! But - it's the most important molecule on our globe. It is the only manufacturer of oxygen and the only one that can completely eliminate carbon dioxide. It is amazing that the molecule is very similar to haem found in our haemoglobin, but with magnesium instead of iron inside. There are 4 haem-molcules on each haemoglobin molecule, and it is haem that binds the oxygen. And - it is chlorophyll which creates the oxygen - Amazing and magnificent!

Chlorophyll - A Magic Little Friend

We have a lot of friends that are scattered around us wherever we go
They offer us the beauty that nature shows
We take them for granted everyday - that we live
They are made of charcoal and oxygen and hydrogene
and also nitrogen, and most important there is magnesium inside
and thus - life is preserved.

The color of these friends are green and they paint our gardens so nice
and we can’t be without them - not a single day
and they seem to be resistant to all - that we do
They rise from the ground inside the plants and all the trees
it is mysterious - how could these magic little friends be there - for us
it is the basis for life

There are lots and lots of areas which, are naked without any green
We should try to fill them, with green plants
and there are no excuse not to do - what we must 
There are certainly plants that we can plant in every soil
on our globe - they may help us to improve the air that we breathe
and much better we feel

Kära vänner, det kan verka galet att skriva en låt om klorofyll !! Men – det är den viktigaste molekylen på vår jordklot. Det är den enda tillverkaren av syre och den enda som helt kan eliminera koldioxid. Det är fantastiskt att molekylen är väldigt lik hem som finns i vårt hemoglobin, men med magnesium istället för järn inuti.

Klorofyll - En magisk liten vän

Vi har många vänner som är utspridda runt omkring oss vart vi än går
De erbjuder oss den skönhet som naturen visar
Vi tar dem för givet varje dag – som vi lever
De är gjorda av träkol och syre och väte
och även kväve, och viktigast av allt finns det magnesium inuti
och därmed - livet bevaras.

Färgen på dessa vänner är grön och de målar våra trädgårdar så fint
och vi kan inte vara utan dem - inte en enda dag
och de verkar vara resistenta mot allt - som vi gör
De reser sig från marken inuti växterna och alla träden
det är mystiskt - hur kunde dessa magiska små vänner vara där - för oss
det är grunden för livet

Det finns massor av områden som är nakna utan något grönt
Vi borde försöka fylla dem med gröna växter
och det finns inga ursäkter för att inte göra - vad vi måste
Det finns säkert växter som vi kan plantera i varje jord
på vår jordklot - de kan hjälpa oss att förbättra luften som vi andas
och mycket bättre mår vi

A song I wrote on my late grandmother's piano for my mother.

Grandmother's Piano (Live) [2010]

Born in México City in 1955, started playing at an early age. In Mexico, I played with bands like  "Atrás del Cosmos", "Queso Sagrado", " Broken Heart", "Decibel", "Bardo Thodol", "Kathmandu Ensemble", Silent Light. In New York City I played with Bands like, "King"s East", "In The Service Of", "Fist of Facts", "Desire", "Dense Undergrowth"," "Matahari", "Like Wow", "Devil's Breakfast", "Muse Mob", "Atlantis 3000", "Monster", "Zenith", "Andromeda Crash" "Night Shade", I also collaborated with Hector Zazou, Harold Budd, Elliott Levin, Dennis Charles, Tetsu Inoue, Bettina Koster. Barbara Gogan, Salvatore Principato, Ken Man, Scott Hartley, Thomas Truax and many others. For many years I also wrote Jingles for a lot of products like Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Mc Donalds, Toyota, Kodak, Payless Shoes, Rothman's, Salsa Tabasco, JC Penny, Liberty Science Center, American Heart Association, MCI, Reebok, AT&T, Fanta, Play Movil, etc, I also made music for Viacom writing music for cartoon networks, Bravo TV, Chanel 1, and MTV. Also wrote music for Bill Moyers (PBS)and also for Fax TV in Germany.
