The Eclectic Collective -- composition


This song began, as so many of ours do, with JJ coming up with the skeleton of it on his electric piano, organ, and synth during one of his Saturday night jam sessions. He originally laid down a bass line for it, too, which might be better than what Josh came up with, But he was kind enough to let Josh in on it, too, adding his four string fretless bass on top of Ken's intricate, lively drums.

  Once the rhythm section was complete, it was time for Stephen and Tez to add their guitar magic to the mix, too. They both laid down some thrilling guitar lines throughout. Josh lastly added the spooky synth theremin you hear throughout.

  When it was all finished and in the can, we asked Stephen to mix it for us, which he did in a professional manner. He also added the creepy sound effects you hear throughout, as well. 

  This song is an example of how the Eclectic Collective can take a idea from one of us, and make it grow into a monster. Speaking of monsters, we decided to release this a day early to coincide with the holiday. Happy Halloween from The Eclectic Collective! We hope you enjoy listening to this song as much as we enjoyed creating it.

Surfing Clouds

I often wonder what's going to happen with our planet/civilization/humanity.  Recent political developments around the world have me (and many many others) deeply concerned, so I'm investigating other potentially habitable regions in the universe.  Mother Earth is my home, and is very dear to me.  Wolf 1061 C could be habitable; it's only 14.1 light years away from Earth.  Hmmm.  How long would it take to get there?  Even if you could travel the speed of light.  I hope we can redeem ourselves and discover a sense of living in harmony and at peace with each other and our planet.

Fragile Tales [Part 2]

Born in México City in 1955, started playing at an early age. In Mexico, I played with bands like  "Atrás del Cosmos", "Queso Sagrado", " Broken Heart", "Decibel", "Bardo Thodol", "Kathmandu Ensemble", Silent Light. In New York City I played with Bands like, "King"s East", "In The Service Of", "Fist of Facts", "Desire", "Dense Undergrowth"," "Matahari", "Like Wow", "Devil's Breakfast", "Muse Mob", "Atlantis 3000", "Monster", "Zenith", "Andromeda Crash" "Night Shade", I also collaborated with Hector Zazou, Harold Budd, Elliott Levin, Dennis Charles, Tetsu Inoue, Bettina Koster. Barbara Gogan, Salvatore Principato, Ken Man, Scott Hartley, Thomas Truax and many others. For many years I also wrote Jingles for a lot of products like Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Mc Donalds, Toyota, Kodak, Payless Shoes, Rothman's, Salsa Tabasco, JC Penny, Liberty Science Center, American Heart Association, MCI, Reebok, AT&T, Fanta, Play Movil, etc, I also made music for Viacom writing music for cartoon networks, Bravo TV, Chanel 1, and MTV. Also wrote music for Bill Moyers (PBS)and also for Fax TV in Germany.
