My Mum requested that, at her funeral(today, 16 January 2022, being the third anniversary), our sisterJayne and her children made arrangements to cover her coffin in pink roses as a sign to everybody that we should celebrate her life and not mourn her death.  They found a casket with a pink rose design too, which would have pleased her even more.  She wanted to be remembered for the good times she had with her family and many close friends.  Mum enjoyed parties and celebrations a great deal.

In writing the song, I wanted to represent all the important parts of Mum's life to help us to remember what an incredibly generous person she was,  always there to help those who needed some extra love and attention.  We grew up in a house that was somewhere our friends and neighbours could always turn to if they needed help. Throughout our lives it wasn't at all unusual to wake up in the morning to find someone who needed refuge asleep on the sofa.  Neighbours' children would join us for meals on a regular basis and Mum made sure there was always plenty to go round..

At the funeral itself, as the chorus explains, I felt so uncomfortably exposed, standing at the front with all eyes seemingly looking at me, gauging every reaction. I think Jayne and Gal felt much the same if truth be told.  Even with my wife and children there to support me, it was one of those moments in life I don't think any of us ever really wants to face. 

We will certainly never forget our wonderful Mum and all the things she did for us.  She always made special times just a bit more special, going that extra mile so that the memories would last a lifetime.

I felt it was particularly important to write this song for my sister, who was the main carer for my Mum in the latter years of her life and dealt with all the difficulties with so much love, care and strength.  This song is for you Jayne, with all our love. 

As always, we give our heartfelt thanks to Hans for producing an arrangement so in keeping with the spirit of the song and the occasion it marks.

Stephen aka TexMex Shaman and guitarist and  Producer extraordinaire and responsible for the awesome artwork, Janine Levinson with a voice that melts my heart, Uziel who is so courageous in her exquisite creations, and Jo Richter(Sonic Structures and Silent Stretches) Poet laureate and Sonic Naturalist all teamed up to make this little poem of mine into an Amazing Song. In Mexico, I played with bands like  "Atrás del Cosmos", "Queso Sagrado", " Broken Heart", "Decibel", "Bardo Thodol", "Kathmandu Ensemble", Silent Light. In New York City I played with Bands like, "King"s East", "In The Service Of", "Fist of Facts", "Desire", "Dense Undergrowth"," "Matahari", "Like Wow", "Devil's Breakfast", "Muse Mob", "Atlantis 3000", "Monster", "Zenith", "Andromeda Crash" "Night Shade", I also collaborated with Hector Zazou, Harold Budd, Elliott Levin, Dennis Charles, Tetsu Inoue, Bettina Koster. Barbara Gogan, Salvatore Principato, Ken Man, Scott Hartley, Thomas Truax and many others. For many years I also wrote Jingles for a lot of products like Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Mc Donalds, Toyota, Kodak, Payless Shoes, Rothman's, Salsa Tabasco, JC Penny, Liberty Science Center, American Heart Association, MCI, Reebok, AT&T, Fanta, Play Movil, etc, I also made music for Viacom writing music for cartoon networks, Bravo TV, Chanel 1, and MTV. Also wrote music for Bill Moyers (PBS)and also for Fax TV in Germany.
