The first notes of this song came to me in May 2022, just after composing “Même si tout s'arrête”. Perhaps this explains a certain resemblance in the way they were constructed, namely vintage synth chords which serve as support for the melody and a theme speaking of a love story. But the comparison stops there because the two titles really each have their own character and identity which distinguish them from each other without hesitation.
This song was in the works for almost a year, before I wrote the lyrics last May, and recorded it. Then my friend Freddie from MTM Production put his touch to re-mix and master this title, giving it some punch and all the necessary dynamics. Freddie, thank you again for all the experience and time you give to my creations. In my eyes, it is of inestimable value.
I hope you enjoy discovering this title, at least as much pleasure as I had writing and producing it. As usual, don't hesitate to "like" and repost, it's very appreciated and so important to Freddie and me!

contacted me about 2 years ago and offered me a baseline stem from an Alpha Roots collaboration he was working on with Joerxworx. About 2 years ago, that is crazy! I, of course, said I would take the stem. I needed to finish some other songs that were in the works before getting to play with Alpha Roots’s baseline. By the time I was ready to connect with the vibe, Russia had invaded Ukraine, unfathomable tragedy had begun, and the world was changing again. My song writing reflected the horror of what was going on. By the time all the stems were gathered, vocals were recorded, and the song was mixed and mastered, another war had broken out and the horror continued. 

Massive thanks to Mountain Songs for  trusting me with these blessed Alpha Roots stems. So glad Jamie, Jonathan, Joerxworx, and Russ got a chance to work with Alpha Roots again. Alpha Roots lives on. 

And the song is ready just in time for Halloween!

#6. This Life Is Short

Imbibe With Me

The Rose Theatre existed for only 17 years before its demolition in 1604. In the days of Shakespeare's tragedies this was surely a sad tale indeed. 
With 22 theatres in London at the end of the Tudor dynasty these bawdy wooden palaces were situated on the rough southern side of the Thames where cock fighting and bear baiting were also prevalent attractions. The remains of the Rose Theatre's foundations were discovered during recent redevelopment and are now a much heralded visitor attraction.

The Eclectic Collective -- composition

This song began, as so many of ours do, with JJ coming up with the skeleton of it on his electric piano, organ, and synth during one of his Saturday night jam sessions. He originally laid down a bass line for it, too, which might be better than what Josh came up with, But he was kind enough to let Josh in on it, too, adding his four string fretless bass on top of Ken's intricate, lively drums.

  Once the rhythm section was complete, it was time for Stephen and Tez to add their guitar magic to the mix, too. They both laid down some thrilling guitar lines throughout. Josh lastly added the spooky synth theremin you hear throughout.

  When it was all finished and in the can, we asked Stephen to mix it for us, which he did in a professional manner. He also added the creepy sound effects you hear throughout, as well. 

  This song is an example of how the Eclectic Collective can take an idea from one of us, and make it grow into a monster. Speaking of monsters, we decided to release this a day early to coincide with the holiday. Happy Halloween from The Eclectic Collective! In New York City I played with Bands like, "King"s East", "In The Service Of", "Fist of Facts", "Desire", "Dense Undergrowth"," "Matahari", "Like Wow", "Devil's Breakfast", "Muse Mob", "Atlantis 3000", "Monster", "Zenith", "Andromeda Crash" "Night Shade", I also collaborated with Hector Zazou, Harold Budd, Elliott Levin, Dennis Charles, Tetsu Inoue, Bettina Koster. Barbara Gogan, Salvatore Principato, Ken Man, Scott Hartley, Thomas Truax and many others. For many years I also wrote Jingles for a lot of products like Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Mc Donalds, Toyota, Kodak, Payless Shoes, Rothman's, Salsa Tabasco, JC Penny, Liberty Science Center, American Heart Association, MCI, Reebok, AT&T, Fanta, Play Movil, etc, I also made music for Viacom writing music for cartoon networks, Bravo TV, Chanel 1, and MTV.
