HUJUS is back on LABURNŪM with an EP full of tribalistic rhythms, granular textures, and obscure vocals. We are ecstatic to have him back on the label as he has been making waves in the scene with his secret sauce of heavily danceable syncopated drums, infusing tribal techno with modern sound design and a no-nonsense, club-ready, approach.

On the B Side of the dubplate, two heavy weights of the groove scene are taking on the remix duty: Frenzy's Isaiah contributes a stripped down version of "Lights" while Danny Wabbit delivers a hypnotic rework of "Butyric Acid". Enjoy.

Carl Shorts is the sonic alter ego of an extraordinary, forward-thinking hard techno producer and composer. Known for delivering uncompromising, hard-hitting techno, his style is raw, relentless and industrial - forged in the underground and built for concrete walls, strobe lit floors and peak hour pressure.

Inspired by the grit of 90s European techno and the do it yourself ethics of modern underground movements, Shorts leads a new breed of hard techno artists. Drawing influence from the pulse of Berlins basements to the industrial echoes of Detroit, Shorts' productions are driven by pounding kick drums, relentless grooves and distorted rhythms and textures to create the hard-hitting sound that he is renowned for.  

With a sound firmly rooted in the underground scene, Shorts' technical compositional and production abilities allow him to channel a philosophy of movement, tension, and release in his tracks whilst constantly pushing the boundaries of hard techno music - no gimmicks, no compromises, just pure sustained intensity and power,  producing work that goes beyond expectation and never diluted.
