In a new collaboration between Carousel and Screen Archive South East, the pioneering early films of Brighton and Hove were re-imagined by young people from local SEN schools – Downs Park School (Portslade), Downsview Lifeskills Link College (Patcham) and Headstart School (Ninfield).

Supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, the project gave 30 students with learning disabilities, autism and additional needs an insight into film-making and visual story-telling, using a green screen, making music and experiencing making sound effects, working alongside two of Carousel’s experienced film-makers – Tina Dickinson and Jason Eade.

The film soundtracks on this playlist were created by the Carousel House Band in collaboration with students from the respective schools/colleges.
