For the 10th edition of the Carpathian Cast, we brought you a remarkable artist that surprised us since we listened to his first track. For the next hour, he selected some of the best tracks of his portfolio and prepared an awesome own production only set. Let's not keep you in suspense anymore. We want to welcome Mike D.

Mike D. is a talented artist from the new wave of Dj and producers from Mexico. His music selection and mixing abilities allowed him to play at one of the best clubs in Mexico, Hardpop, as a guest DJ for multiple years. His music was supported by some well-known artists such as Arapu, Sepp, Cosmjn, Mihai Pol, Sublee, Dragutesku. His music was released at multiple labels: Kanja Records, Tip Tap Records, Kina Music, Samani. He is also the owner of Salomon Records. We are sure you will like this set. Enjoy!

From an early age, my passion for music and sounds has shaped my journey. Exploring the realms of melody and rhythm, I have delved into various instruments such as guitar, bass, and drums. Immersed in the realms of rock, jazz, and funk, I find myself constantly driven to create and perform music.

I began listening to electronic music in 2009 while living in Argentina, where I was born. My first introduction to music was Techno, but once I discovered House, everything changed. I learned about the history and origins of House music, since it originated from disco music and before machines like the Roland 808, 909, and 303 were used. Additionally, vinyl records and sampling will be added. Interestingly, Hip Hop was born with the same resources, another genre I enjoy listening to. 

When I was a teenager, I dreamed of being a DJ and had to let it go, like many other dreams. But anyway, I always kept listening to sets and trying to understand how a track was put together. 

After 2014, I listened to Ricardo Villalobos for the first time, and later to RPR Soundsystem, another unexpected musical turn. I was fascinated by everything, the atmospheres they generate, the bass lines, the random ones too and the unexpected, but always trying to leave the kick, the snare or clap, and the hats well-marked. Additionally, I have had the pleasure of listening to Franco Cinelli, Barem, Jorge Savoretti and Alexis Cabrera on the Argentine scene.

My journey to Barcelona in 2020 gave me the opportunity to make great DJ friends, and the Micro/Minimal House culture is strong in that city.

Then, in 2022, I started playing music with friends, and then began producing my own tracks, which I really enjoy.

The good feedback I got from my DJ friends after 100 test tracks has inspired me to share my music with the world in 2023.
